IIRC Moffat's Mazda RX-7 overheated before the first turn in 1984. What hurt them apparently was that the fuse for the light showing overheating had blown and his team didn't know. Not knowing his 13B rotary was cooked, Moff took the start (from pole) and lasted less than 200m. Brock's HDT Commodore went on to win easily from Johnson's Falcon.
