I am now the owner of this TC, it is now in the garage with the other 14 TCs. I only own 4 yellow TC and one being a 16V 89, 1 of 11 built. Lowest milage yellow TC is 2300 miles. Great video! I also own LeBaron GTCs. I like to confuse the uninformed with TCs, and Lebanons of the same color parked side by side.

I bought one on ebay that needed a new transmission at 33k miles. Also needed to source new seats and stereo. Sold it a year later on ebay, losing a couple thousand dollars. Looked like new and was very comfortable.

In the beginning of the video where he repeats the ridiculous cliché that the TC ended up being the worst of both Chrysler and Maserati, which he then repeated at the end of the video, I thought, geez, yet another video of somebody trashing the TC when they don’t have the slightest clue what they’re talking about. After all, to believe that this car is the worst of both companies you have to believe that Chrysler’s strong suit at the time was really nice fit and finish, gorgeous interiors, and high luxury, and that Maserati’s strength at a time was reliable and inexpensive to maintain drivetrains. To think that’s the case you have to have little to no knowledge of cars. That being said, this guy did his homework pretty well. While he’s obviously not a fan of the car, his treatment of it was fairly evenhanded. In the end, if the grand plan had worked and the TC had come out about a year before the new LeBaron that was designed to look like it, the TC story would’ve been different, but when the inexpensive car comes out first, you know you’re going to have a problem on your hands. Chrysler did know this, which is why they reduced the order for TCs down to the minimum agreed-upon number of 7,300, guaranteeing that no matter how well they sold, there was never going to be any more than that, and they put almost no money into advertising the TC. they knew they had a disaster on their hands and they weren’t going to dump any more money into it. People always talk about the TC being too expensive, but expensive as a relative term. The TC’s two most direct competitors were the Buick Reatta and the Cadillac Alante. The TC had the most available horsepower of the three. It was close to $20,000 cheaper than the Cadillac, and a little more expensive than the Buick so it’s not really fair to say that the car was too expensive. It was priced well versus its competition, But when you can get a very similar LeBaron for about 40% less, there’s no recovering from that.

I own the exact car, if you weren't driving in 1989 you don't have a qualified opinion.

I thought the preview looked like familiar Chrysler garbage, cuz it reminded me of my little brothers first car: a Chrysler lebaron
