The1989 Ladies Plate final re-row at 8pm on Sunday (after the prize giving)
Notts County had won it once but Harvard had something stuck on their fin and lodged an appeal.
Notingham, a lightweight crew, led by about a canvas at all the signals up to the mile, but had sneaked half a length at the top of the enclosure
The Stewards Enclosure was open to the general public and the umpires launch coaches decorum is a little more relaxed than normal (given the situation)
Even one of the race recorders is clapping at the end.
One of the jibes thrown at Henley is that a lot of people who go aren't at all interested in the rowing.
Whilst there is a fair bit of truth in this, the sizeable crowd who stayed behind for two hours waiting to see just this one race, showed that there's a lot of people who do go to watch the rowing. That evening they got to enjoy a great race, from two class crews.
