Thank you very much my whole family went to the Supercross at the Pontiac silver dome just about every year 👍🤠🙏💖🇺🇸....Miss the 2strokes😏

What is one of your best memories from there. Ronnie winning this race,--man he was cooking,--is definitely one of my best. I bet he was almost 2 seconds faster going up that hill alone,---and soooo smooooooth. These were the days when the tracks separated the talent,---and we could see greatness. Today---we see a lot of fast parades that nobody remembers, but Ferrandis seems to be .216 seconds faster/lap then the rest of the parade today. I never forgot this race, and how fast Ronnie was that night. Greatness is memorable and inspirational. I am sure we drove home a little fast that night. :)

This was the second race of the weekend, Sunday, (of the double header Pontiac used to do). I was there, sitting with my racing buddy (The late Kenny Daugherty), in the stands on the bumpy straight leading up the hill. This show did not give Ron Lechien his due. He won by mile. He was visibly faster, especially up the hill, and super smooth that night. Just on a higher level that was easy to see. I am telling you, when that guy was "on", I would bet some money on him against anybody who ever raced. You just can't forget a ride like that. It was a thrill to see that guy "on" his game, and this race was the only time I did in see him at his best person. It was a real treat. :) You had to have been there.

Nope. This was the first race of the weekend (Saturday). The second race your referring to was the one Jeff ward won that weekend.

In 6. Place. . # 23. . Team Yamahas micky diamond 💎. . In second place. Team Hondas guy Cooper. . Great racing.

And Sean Kalos finishing 4th. He just got into contention for a career and soon faded away after that.

Location, location, location. That area was dead 40 years ago. This could get interesting, trying to rejuvenate the area with slave labor. The land may become popular for big demolition, the famous Pontiac "double header". :) Because of the 2 race weekends, the Pontiac Silverdome held the record for a stadium with the most SX races until the early 2000's I believe.
