One of my favorite performances ever in the Mummers parade. Costumes just beautiful and classic Philadelphia String Band music. Their strut up Broad Street was amazing in 1989. Thanks for posting this 🙂
One of the best shows ever done!! Great to hear all those traditional songs played in a string band performance. I doubt we'll ever see another show like this one. 1ST Place in my eyes!!! Thanks for sharing
This is one of the best from the Ferko String bands. I have watched the Mummers Parade when I was a kid when Joe Ferko was the founder and Captain. My father was a National Guard Captain then and we would always go to the Armory in Philadelphia. He knew a lot of the WWII and Korean War vets in the bands, especially Ferko. He would say "Son, here comes Joe Ferko and his boys; listen to them and watch excellence!
