3:25 Meanwhile my country has some 47-storey public housing apartment blocks (8 units per floor) that're each served by 4 lifts serving all floors. With a rooftop garden, they attract many visitors when fireworks are set off to celebrate the new year, leading to ~1h queues for the lifts for residents returning home though
My understanding is that that in some hotels it is common to miss out room 13's and floor 13's due to them historically being seen as bad luck, however i suspect modern hotels simply do this because of tradition.
They're indeed rare: Only 3 in Toulouse (France) up to this day with two of them that are hydraulic and only one that is traction. The trouble is that both hydraulics have a keypad inside the car that locks all floors and the traction one is not really accessible to the public. ): (Oh I forgot to mention that one of the hydraulics and the traction don't even have shaft lights !)
There's one of these in a way more basic form (no chimes, only 2 floors, basic cabin) near where I live (Germany) in a medical center that was remodeled in the early 90s. The whole building has had some remodeling done fairly recently, but they left the lift untouched other than a new door frame I think. Seems to be pretty reliable. What's so special about these or are they just rare? (and if so why.. too expensive back then?)
The interesting things about these are the chimes and up/down LED on the landings. I was more interested in the lifts at the back (70s Otis) - oh and the bushes at the front of the building lol.
I think Schindler with S-Series fixtures are rare in the world with an exception of Bangkok, Thailand. S-Series here are installed around 10-20 places. Any place like this?

Singapore's Ngee Ann City shopping centre used to have S-Series fixtures in its cargo lifts (but M-Line call buttons & lanterns), while passenger lifts had S-Series lift lobby floor indicators (but other fixtures were M-Line) until modernization by Kone in 2013
Probably not the correct video to ask this question but ... Today I saw some early 2000s Schindler lifts and wondered what the “candle” symbol means and when will it light up? Do you have an idea?
It’s an Olympic torch 😂 rather silly and pointless really it came on during the 2012 Olympics, not sure if they come on every Olympics though so not sure about 2016
floors -1 and 13 are most likely staff only floors and not served by the public lifts. Probably if you were to go in a service lift you would find those floors.
+The_ALEX_ELLIS_Channel 13 doesn't exist at all, so after 12 it has an American Numbering Scheme where the ground floor is 1, first floor is 2 and so on. -1 Does exist as well as a -3.
I don't see any BETTER QUALITY videos on your channel, except a subway sandwich wrapper lol. Suggest you make some before you comment on someone else's work. Perhaps you should set your quality settings higher than 240p?
