1990s UK Christmas Adverts Compilation vol. 2 (2017) 

Watching these June 2020.. Feeling nostalgic and wishing I was a child again. Born in 80s grew up in 90's. Christmas was the best ❤️

Growing up when the adverts were the best thing about Christmas!! Wanna go back in time 😩

Douglas the Lurpak butter man! He was one of our favourite ads, my wife and me. We still have a toast rack with him leaning on it at one end.

That little blonde girl in the cornflakes ad was so adorable

These adverts warm my heart but it’s bittersweet. So many people gone and the heart has gone from everything these days.

We are the last generation of the old world, I remember being told this in the early 2000's.

Take me back to the 80’d and 90’s when we had the best Christmas adds ever, period.

This just hit me with a level of nostalgia I didn't know existed 😭

The Andrex one with the puppy and duck brings back memories and the corn flakes one with Santa makes me feel warm and fuzzy, awwww :)

Amazing to see some of these companies with classic logos - plus the likes of Cellnet, Somerfield, Woolworths etc...who sadly aren’t around nowadays.

We didn't hv much but I miss those Christmas years a sock filled with fruit nuts wizard of oz snowman magical happy times missing family as the years passed but fond memories if only we could go back less is more xxx

I actually miss the slightly plummy British accent that you hear on these ads.

I remember most of these adverts! The care, the cheesiness put into these back then.... I miss my childhood! Adverts thesedays are nowhere great as these ones. Thank you for this!

Not even from UK, but grew up during this time. It’s really kinda sad seeing so much comments showing how over time companies have lost the friendly approach.

I remember the Metrocentre when it was like that, when it was a shopping centre that had alot more different stores than it does now not to mention Metroland. So great to see to see how it used to look, especially at Christmas. The decorations are nice now but not a patch on what they where like then. Sigh of the times and changing styles. Thank you for the memories.

The cobwebs of my brain have been dusted off hugged my memories..I liked the felix ads pet ads are sweet.. the biscuit ad I liked as a kid isn't on here they were called trio and a shouty cartoon girl called suzie. Who remembers what I'm on about? 🧚‍♀️🦧

There will always be only one number one Christmas AD and that is the coca cola ad with the red trucks all lit up and lighting up all the dark places and towns as they drove past in a convoy... There's something about that AD you know its Christmas when that AD comes on.... So well done

These adverts really do bring back so many happy memories! Got my first Saturday job at Somerfield in the 90’s and got double discount for my mum and dad to use at Christmas! I realise the irony as I am watching this on my smart phone, but social media and the internet has ruined the magic of Christmas for kids today. I was so lucky to grown up in the 80s and 90s.

Why do the prices for some of these products seem so expensive? £9.99 for Dairy Milk Christmas crackers?

There’s an advert from my childhood I cannot find anywhere, it’s definitely an American Express advert for Valentine’s Day and it’s very early 2000’s and there’s an old Asian man walking out of a phone booth along a dirt road and he has a little skip in his step and then walks down the road and gets into a car, I wish someone could remember it…also I’m sure it was channel 4???

As much as we all reminisce about these being the good old days, so pure and ... it was. I mean, companies using part of their ad to thank their customers. Dont get that these days. But it's easy to forget, this was the start of it all. The consumerism shit show we now see. The 90s marketing and promo people laid the foundations for the greed we see today. Todays ads are just an evolution of this

Great Christmas cheer. Remember many of these. Everywhere was open then. You were free to come and go as you like. That's how it should be, normal.

John Lewis who put too much money into adverts should look at these and realise the simplest advert can make you feel nostalgic at Christmas. More than anything that's out now.

Cadbury dairy milk Christmas crackers? Wow, don't remember them.

Watching the Cellnet advert, it's kinda weird to think that mobile phones were a thing as early as 1990. I remember them existing, I remember them being desirable. But the price of both the unit and then the tariff was just way out of the league of affordability for the average person or family. It was all about the Yuppies and the business person. Joe Bloggs and Jane Doe weren't marketed at, just look at the type of person they were aiming for in this particular advert. Compare the mobile phone scene of 1990 to that of today. It's certainly been one of the biggest communication booms in history. Not owning a mobile now is like not having running water, it's almost unthinkable. And look at where the costs are, you can pick up basic handsets for a tenner and get unlimited calls for £1.50p a week. If prices were like that in 1990, I know where my pocket money would have immediately gone. Crazy stuff, how affordable it has become. Kids of today will never know.

Funny how Alka Seltza is associated with Christmas . The result of over- indulgence, alcohol and food.Notice also, how it's all about "buy this cake, this alcohol, these Christmas nibbles," .... and after Christmas, all the diet, and getting in shape for the new year adverts come on tv. Then it's the holiday adverts. We are all so gullible, aren't we?
