WAGON! A friend snagged this up for the Hot Rod Power Tour, but I could NOT resist testin` on it. I'm so jealous I can hardly breath. Wood trim. Power LIFE. Universe roof. Take a gander at all the futuristic luxuries this land yacht carries and come along for a test ride!

My 2 favorite vehicles were both 1993 TBI trucks. One was 4.3L V6 and the other was a 350. When you take care of those engines, they run forever. And they are really cheap and easy to work on.

Man, these are great cars. I have one just like that, as others have stated the 92 Roadmasters didn't have LT1's. Also, the Infl. Rest. light on the dash is checking for the airbag and if the light goes out like yours did it means you're all good to go. If the light stays on then you have an issue with your airbag.

The original owner (guy prior to my dad) ordered it from the factory to include the 5.0 9C1 Police 305 (the 9C1's were available that year as a 5.0 or the 5.7).... LOVE the ride and it is indeed one of the last of it's kind in the big rear wheel drive sleds.............

TBI 350: the slowest 350 I have ever seen lol. But flip the lid on the old air filterer and it’ll make better Quadrajet sounds than an actual quadrajet makes.

Steven Vanheel agreed did that on my 1990 Chevy suburban those ole engines are complete gutless dogs but they make up for it with that moan and reliability
@asmongoldsmouth9839
@asmongoldsmouth9839 4 года назад
It's not a TBI 350. It's an LO5 350. Yes, it is throttle-body injected but you can't sum ALL TBI 350's up as the same engines. Take a look at the power specs. Take a look at the air intake assembly. There is no lid to flip. It is a flex vacuum intake style to a box filter throttle-body assembly. The pickup trucks (incl. G30, 2500/3500 and Suburban) had 210 hp 300 ft. Lbs. They used an air-cleaner simillar to a carburetor style. So weak? In the truck and SUV's/vans? ABSOLUTELY!! Plus those vehicles weight 4,200 Lbs to 6,500 Lbs. Of course they are weak for that application. A TBI 350 is great for a car. Especially with a few small, cheap, easy mods.

I’ve got a 95 K1500 Suburban with that TBI 350. Slow to get up to speed yes, but that 300 ft lbs comes in low. She’ll drag whatever you hook to her.

I bought a new Trans am in 94 , Lt1 engine. it was my daily driver till I bought a new car in 2005.and have had 3 new cars since that one. I Couldn't let it go, still have it 26 years later, 337.000 miles on it, engine never been touched, even timing chain original. Still runs fantastic, uses no oil, and still looks nearly new in and out. Transmission was replaced once at about 160.000 miles with a factory rebuilt unit, still working fine.

Got a mot tre out of one of those one time and dropped it in an ‘89 suburban. Paid $100 at a junkyard because it apparently had a cracked head and the motor that was originally in the suburban had a spun rod bearing but with brand new heads from the previous owner. Slapped the new heads on the LT1 short block and it was a goin ta town rig.

I bought a 95 last year. Love it! Had a 94 Impala years ago and I'm excited to have another B-Body. I like the door pull handles and roof rack better on this 92! GM made a mistake changing them up IMO. Maybe the quick release began to fail after a lot of use but those door pull handles look dip much stronger. I gave a few that have been repaired but don't ever let a 5 year old pull it. Done son.

I found a Roadmaster with the LT1 in a "you pull-on-it" junkyard back in 2005. 47,444 miles. They charged $175 for the motor. I found a guy with tools who charged me $100 to pull it while I walked around and bought stuff off other cars, and the junkyard used their forklift to set the motor on my trailer. Flipped the motor for $750 to another feller. All in a day's work. I would love to own one of those Roadmaster wagons.

Since I was the oldest I got to spend a lot of time at the helm piloting this land yacht while mom and dad relaxed in the middle seat and kept peace within the tribe. Lots of good memories. Dad ended up turning her into a construction truck. Made for nice comfortable rides on longs hauls to the construction sites. She never missed a gas station.

You made me want one of these, to bad I'm in upside down Australia and they all fell off the earth here. Your videos are the best, as soon as I get the notification i try to watch. The only thing I didn't like was you weren't wearing your seat belt. I don't care what people say, they do save lives

Can‘t believe you had a „whale“ on your show! Truely an American Classic and pretty much bulletproof. Love them. A sleeper, a space marvel and a design icon, not only in the States.

I bought a 96 Roadmonster Wagon in 2003 with 42K miles, kept it to 2010. I can't swear by the statement but I heard rumors that the vehicles used a Suburban chassis with the detuned Vette LT1 engine and had a buick body put on them and were built on the Cadillac Assembly line. Supposedly not many mods were needed to open the LT1 up to full power. Mine had a factory tow package and I could pull a small camper at 70 with no problem. One year my wife and I decided to take the kids and inlaws to Disney world and my dad lent us his van, there wasn't enough room for suitcases and 7 people. Surprisingly we fit everyone in relative comfort in the big wagon without an issue. I remember stopping for Gas once and letting two kids out the "way back" and heard another child in another car say "What kind of car is that?" and I heard the parent say "Oh that's a station wagon! I remember those!" . I parted with it in 2010 after racking it up to 150K miles. Mechanically it was still good but the seats were coming apart at the seams, the black molding kept falling off and the paint was fading. This despite treating the seats regularly with leather treatment and waxing it monthly with pure carnuba wax and treating the wood applique with PLEDGE (which is what you use). I decided it was best to sell it and used the money for a newer vehicle. BTW - Glass on the inside doesn't mean someone was exiting...

You are a true Master Mechanic or pretty darn close. Dont know why people want to buy new cars. There are so many cherry cars to choose from , you seem to have a line on all of them.

I had a 92 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser with the L05. It had been through the wringer by the time I got it. A little basic maintenance, and it almost never let me down for 3 years.

10-12 years ago I had a mint 94 caprice (same as that buick) wagon. No rust. Found it in Virginia Beach, VA, flew out and drove it home to MN. It was a cream puff. It loved the hwy.
