Sat in many a Hino back in the day. Proper work vehicles. Modern day Ireland was built with these things.

Great old tippers!! We used to get the Vanfleet trailers at our yard near Heathrow in the 90’s, loading hanging garments for Ireland. Great bunch of lads

Drove a hino 700 series few years back best brakes on a truck ever. You have get a run in a scammell routeman, king of the muck away tippers and the sound of one is beautiful.

When you say scammell do you mean one with the 680 Leyland engine or the Rolls 220 I worked on them back in the 70s/80s

When I grew up most of the 8 by 4’s on the road were hino and it seemed like every second truck in construction was a hino , I could never understand why Pip Dunn was so negative about them in classic truck. In the late eighties and early nineties they got some abuse and seemed indestructible. I drove one for Barretts in Maynooth for a short time in 2000. It was so comfortable, gearbox was perfect, loads of power. Steering was like a car. Great truck to drive. Thanks Stavros

I remember you could wash the bed in the cab with a hosepipe. After about 2-days the floor would begin the stink. So then I started using Dettol to kill the bacteria. The third hi no that was allocated to me had the experimental Eaton 4/4 range change. Had to say it was a vast improvement on the ZF and it never gave me any problems.

Very nice and the video stimulate my memories. Hino used to be the most common truck in Hong Kong. This FS cab is actually exist in mid-80s Japan local and really innovative to have cab suspension at that time. My dad even changed the cab of Hino K series to FS cab for better comfort. My old man use to drive lots of old hinos when I was growing up in nz I have great memories of going to work with the old man driving one of these but it had 13 speed and a terminator looking arm for a gear shift lol awesome video I also got my licence in a hino .

These trucks are still being used in my country, common to see them on the road lol. Usually they are moded by adding extra metal plates on the existing bucket to increase load capacity

We had an old Chrysler/ Talbot Sunbeam with similar patterned seats. There was a red Hino tipper derelict by the motocross track at junction 6 on the M5 for years.

I look at the gauge and saw "kg/cm^2." Trucks build for the Canadian, Alaskan, Hawaiian and contiguous American markets have PSI on air gauges, with even the old trucks' mostly being non-synchromesh manuals if manuals.

Hino's now are beautiful and not as cheap thats why in the philippines truckers choose hino over china trucks because its hino its more affordable but if you want a top tier truck maybe go for MAN in the philippines

Toyota have a part ownership of Hino hence the seat fabric. In the modern ones the dash switches are the same as the Hilux

You love trucks. I'm going to show ye two differnet types off trucks on your channel. I'll show ye Hydrovacs. A 2007 tri drive western star with Mercedes motor. A friend just bought one with a savage blower. And the tree spades will crack ye up especially if I show ye the teeth marks on the exhausts what a story that is. Different world. 82 88 and 89 Ford 8500 absolute beauties. They definitely made them better back in the day. I'll be sure to give good ye good speel. Love the show and the passion Stavros.
