Lyssenko should have stuck with the Arabian double. The double layout was too inconsistent. It looked nice but she nailed that Arabian double everytime.
I watched both Shannon’s vault score and Gutsu’s vault scores and on both Gutsu’s they scored her 9.9 & 9.95, much higher than Shannon’s. But rewatch both their vaults; Gutsu has split legged entries on both hers, as well as lands them with very low chests even though she sticks. Shannon’s legs were stuck together like glue, much better height on her vaults and fully stretched out (no pike down) she has a small hop on the 1st vault, which should have scored 9.95 and her second with steps 9.9, though it was 9.912. Gutsu’s should have been 9.825 & 9.875. But i think they judged then on who should get the gold no matter if they did well or not.
Interesting that the British commentator was hinting that Zmeskal got a 10 in Indianapolis because Worlds were held in her home country. It seems to me the quality of her vaults had diminished since the '91 Worlds hur no mention of that.
Nah she was oversocred on floor by quite a lot. She was scoring 9.95 plus despite opening with a full in and sub par artistry. People like Gutsu were doing whips into DLO's and dismounting with a double layout and barely breaking the 9.9's.
