Im 63 years old and I'm crying as I type. Days of hearing and seeing performances like this are LONG GONE. I THANK GOD that I had the utmost respect and pleasure of meeting the TEMPTATIONS WAY BACK IN 1984. MY CRYING IS BECAUSE WE TOOK ALL OF THIS AND ALL THE MUSIC BACK THEN FOR GRANTED. MY KIDS IN THEIR 40'S GRANDKIDS IN THEIR 20'S WERE RAISED ON ALL OF THE 60'S AND 70'S MUSIC. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING. STAY BLESSED EVERYONE.
Melvin had a hard time standing let alone stepping. He passed away 3 years later. Around this time he had to use oxygen back stage to help him breath. Also he was suffering from all the steroids he needed for his sickness. Very sad, he was taken away too soon. One of the great bass voices in vocal harmony. RIP Blue!!!!

LHM just listen to Melvin such a rich voice.. The best bass singer ever in my lifetime. What a group. I miss this music today. Thanks to RU-vid we are able to relive our yesterday's in songs. ❤🎤🎼🎹🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
MELVIN Had a BASS that was to tough. The man was the great BASS singer I every heard. Plus to MELVIN has a lots of energy on stage. MELVIN always to me seem to glow he always seem to put extra ease in his dancing singing. But all of the TEMPTATION Were so talented. They all were good. But there was something about MELVIN that make the group shine and glow all the time So to the TEMPTATION one and all RIP GOD IS LOVE
The Temps were older n this footage, but the surely did show those yung'ns somethin. If u did'nt know any bet'r, just hear'n them & not seeing them, u would thought they were yung guyz. I luved it, the old show'n the yung'ns how it's done. Thank God Berry had a vision. Motown 4 eva.
+darryl walker , I agree with you I should have paid attention and went to their show when they appeared in Jamaica. Thank God these videos are being shared, so thankful.
To Darryl Walker: YOU ain't never lied about if you never saw the Temptations then you haven't lived a life. I am from Oakland, Ca and my mother took me to see the world's fair in New York in 1965 when I was just 11 years old. On the way to New York we stopped in DC to visit some of our relatives. The kids were just a few years older than I was so we decided to go and see a Motown Revue show that cost 75 cents to get in and it started at 9am and was over at 8pm. I saw every and I mean every act on the Motown record label. I still remember the Tempts came out in white suits on and were the sharpest people I have ever seen even up until this day. I mean the temps stole the show hands down and couldn't even get off the stage because of the 15 minute standing ovation the crowd gave them. I am now in my middle 60s and I still remember that show a complete once in a lifetime show that I will never never never forget the rest of my life. And Melvin Franklin bass was so low, the seat that I was sitting in started vibrating like a earthquake. Amazing is all I can say just AMAZING. YOU ARE COMPETELY RIGHT IF YOU NEVER SAW A TEMPTATIONS SHOW LIVE, YOU HAVEN'T LIVED A LIFE. GOD BLESS ALL THE TEMPTATIONS AND THEIR OFF SPRING.
I used to absolutely LUV Arsenio Hall's late night Talk Show!! He put oh so many of Today's Artist on the Map as he was the only one 'brave' enough to showcase a number of today's Rap Artists. No one except the black community had ever heard of Queen Latifah, Eminem, L. L. Cool J, Ice T. Ice Cube, Snoop Dog and so Many others until Arsenio gave them a "National" platform to showcase their talent. The Temptations are a "Classic" all on their own, but you have to appreciate Arsenio for helping to continue to give them the platform they so Richly Deserve! :-)
The temptations sang and pour there beautiful hearts out but they left beautiful soul R&B soul classic the will live for many decades to come young and old we all love the temptations and there music the will live forever and ever may they rips

For myself, personally......watching "Arsenio Hall Show" film clips is a beautiful experience; an extremely pleasurable trip down "Memory Lane". These clips become SPECIAL when they feature a group with the stature of the legendary Temptations. May the Heavenly Father embrace the collective spirits of Melvin Franklin, Richard Street, and my man, Mr.Ali Ollie Woodson........my personal favorite Temptation of all time. I've loved this group since the days of "My Girl". That love will never die.
The Great Temptations; Jamming The Tune, Ol’ Man River. The Harmony Was Off The Chain, And I Don’t Care What Members Of The Group Sing It. They JAM This Cut : That’s What You Called Phenomenal To The Core; Rest Easy To All The “ Late” Members Of The Group ☮️
Ali Ollie was an incredible talent, even moreso than David...BUT...David was fortunate enough to be in the group during all those great 2 1/2 minute Holland/Dozier/Holland songs....and Smokey"s My Girl.
