Bobbys brother Curtis also a star of his own passed away on may 21 2017. I would ask for his remembrance and ask for prayers for his companion Bernice and family. A true superstar family!!!
The Arsenio Show Was The Best Night Show Ever, And There Hasn't Been Another One That Could Even Come Close To It, Especially Not The Ones That's On Now.
Just hearing him sing was such a treat now I love me some David Ruffin Ali Ollie Woodson he is just phenomenal God Rest his soul beautiful person beautiful singer
This easily has to be one of the greatest talkshow introduction musical openings that's ever been done or recorded. With Ollie leading the path with his soulful vocal flair he made sure that nobody could come in and upstage his performance, the proof is in this video 👍😁😎👌
Thank you for posting this footage. My pops is up in the corner playing trombone and has recently left us. Video footage like this ensures his legacy will live on through his many recorded performances posted online. Thank you. Tron
Ollie was truly a gifted vocalist and the passion of his singing took this particular show to another level and Ollie & Bobby turned it out... Dave Koz got all excited and found his groove and Bobby the magnificent Womack put his foot in it... This is how you make the music come alive even Arsenio knew he was out done so he made it a party lol... Rip Mr. Woodson & Mr. Womack, Thank You for the great music and showman ship. They were both Class Acts, and two wonderful human beings....
WOW... thank you for posting these incomparable men. I just think Bobby Womack ranks amongst the icons like Michael, Marvin, Sinatra, Sammy, Elvis .. He surely is an icon to me ! . . r.i.p.
Bobby Womack was in a class by himself very distinctive ! Ijust miss that kind of great music it will never be duplicated , it is good we have the memories of such incredible Artist !
He does not duplicate Bobby Womack, but I would encourage you to listen to a few songs by Calvin Richardson. Bobby Womack is one of his greatest influences.
I will miss the Legend Mr. Bobby Womack. . My heart is very heavy tonight as now comes the part where everyone will hear of his death and play his music like crazy because you will never personally hear that sound except maybe radio or tv. Never leave a person being so angry that if something comes back where you wanna talk yet dont have the chance to say it. Millions of us never knew Mr. Womack personally but if you grew up in a home like me you grew close to the music and loved every bit of it. Thinking it would never end. Many will try to impersonate, some will come real close, but it will never make the sound of this amazing man who as I child I grew to love. May Mr. Womack find peace away from this crazed world. He will truly be so missed!!! :(
I will never forget this beautiful time Arsenio gave respect to these two men talk about singing that's all they knew how to do loved every minute of it Thanks for the Memories Arsenio rest in peace my two soul brothers singing with the angels in the arms of God thank you
Anyone watching this: do your homework. If Ali's voice even BEGAN to get to you, go to the Tube and look him up. Possibly, to you and me, the best singer ever in this genre. Ever.
TRUE STORY:i was visiting Atlanta in the summer of 84; went to a local bar in Buckhead and was amazed at brotha lead singer fronting an all-white blues band; two months later, went home to see Temptations perform at Holiday House in Monroeville-Pittsburgh, Pa. - they announnced their new lead singer, Ali Ollie Woodson. He also spent time working local bands in Augusta, Ga. in the late 70s-early 80s. A legendary vocalist that we really miss.
Yessss!!!! I loved the Arsenio Hall show, the best night time talk show, so missed. That was a great throwback favorite memory from an episode. Treat her like a lady is my favorite song by the Temps that was not led by Eddie,Paul or David. Ollie got a great, soulful, gritty, gospel tone n that falsetto is redonkculous! I can’t start on Bobby Womack, I need to hear If you think you’re lonely now,my favorite of his. Had to give KC Haley his props cause he wore that remake out n I don’t approve of remakes if they won’t be better or just as good as the original. RIP to these men, no voices like that anymore
Ali was my favorite in the line of replacements for Ruffin. Had the best of David and Dennis. But let's not forgot that they all "screamed". Ever listen to David Ruffin's "World of Darkness" Ruffin screamed a lot on his solo stuff
Ollie voice was still kickin it on Arsenio as you can hear but it was in his prime in the 80s. I know I'm old; I know (most) these cuts from when they were initially released which is early 70s to around 1985.
