Cowboys and 49ers rematch from last years NFC Championship game. San Francisco coming off a bye week. This was a big game after the Cowboys started 0-2 but were undefeated with Emmitt back.
I was at this game. I got married in December of 93. Instead of a bachelor party my bestman and I went to this game. I've always been a big Cowboys fan. I'm a widower now but my bestman and I are still best friends. Great memories.
@@michaelgallagher7338 I don't think we're far from being a great team. I say that every year. We just need some playmakers on defense who can give us that spark and confidence.
this game was my first time seeing dallas play at texas stadium in person. was surreal to actually walk from the concourse into the seating area after seeing this place only on tv for so many years. glad i took the tour the next day, because i got to throw the football around some down on the field, whereas on my next trip, the field was covered during the stadium tour, and could only toss the ball around behind the end zone.
Cowboys 3 rings in 4yrs that’s awesome. It should have been the 1st threepeat in the NFL but we all know what happened. Congrats on the HOF Jimmy and thanks for the memories
Actually the 49ers should have been the first team 88,89, and 90. We were in our way to the sb but Craig fumbled. Learn your history bro. Don't be a bias cowboys fan. Also we definitely should have won in 92 against u guys so how do you 3peat?
@@jackduncan5442 99 Rams would of smoked those teams. You could argue that even the Manning led Colts other than his Rookie year were better. 98 and 99 Broncos were pretty darn good to.
99 Rams? You're joking right. They could barely beat solid teams like Tampa and Tennessee. Peyton Colts? 13 seasons 1 SB win and 1 other appearance. They lost to SD twice the Jets, and a bunch of other ok teams. You really need to lay off the crack pipe.
@@jackduncan5442 99 rams the greatest show on turf. You could put in like every Patriot Superbowl team. Those Cowboy and 49er teams were good but to say best teams ever is little bit of a stretch. Makes you sound like just fanboy and not really being objective
Three straight NFC championships by these two teams. Those were the days of great football! The AFC had no chance to win the SB in the 1990s when the 49ers or the Cowboys were in it.
9:14 I was at this game as a 9 year old, and dumped my popcorn walking down the aisle right behind the corner of this end zone catching a perfect view of this Emmitt Smith touchdown .
Harper and Irvin was one of the tallest wr duos I can remember that were that effective. Man these teams bring back such great memories. I was in my teens, and grew up in the dfw area. I thought we'd win forever lol. I obviously had no idea how things worked in the NFL with contracts and such.
I believe the description is wrong. This was not a rematch of last two NFC conf games. It was a rematch from 92 season conf title game. The 93 season conf title game had yet to be played.
Ya,the 92 Championship game was a classic in muddy candlestick, the 93 game was a Dallas blow out at Texas stadium. The 94 game was great too at San Fran,49ers took early 21-0 lead and then hung on. The good old days
As a lifelong (will be 56 this June) Cowboy fan, these games in the early to mid-90s were beyond special 4 consecutive seasons the Super Bowl winner was decided in the NFC Championship game between these two squads. I used to despise the Niners, obviously still a rival of my Boys, but you get grudging respect for the battles that these two fought and they made each other better. A lot of Hall of Famers in these matchups and probably should be a few more...ahem Darren Woodson! Some of the best football you will ever witness and some of the greatest players and best teams of all-time!!!!
@@user-mx8dq2ix9d Good luck my friend. There are a lot of programs to help out there. Oxycontin after knee surgery is what got me going, never used Heroin, but it is rampant, along with Methamphetamine in my neck of the woods! Stay strong, you can do it my friend and there is a more wonderful life after addiction...seriously wish you the best and you will be in my thoughts, my friend.
Between 1992 to 1995 there is no doubt that Cowboys had the best teams. Emmitt Smitt, Michael Irvin, Muse Johnston, Jay Novackek and Troy Aikeman were are all hall of famers, but in opinion, none this happens without the defense and Charles Haley in particular and the best offensive lines in history.
I love how people act like the offensive line was made up of the same guys every year. It wasn’t. Oh and by the way that “amazing line” got Aikman injured on more than one occasion. Were they good? Yes. Were they the greatest ever? No. See the results when someone other than Emmitt ran behind him (you know this line was basically the same before emmitt arrived right? When they went 1-15. Hell Nate Newton and Tuinei and Stepnosko all played for Tom Landry)
@@evilsWa this is somewhat of a great point. There really is no debating that this line was amazing. Simply a fact. Aikman getting injured has nothing to do with whether they were amazing or not. QBs get hit regardless. It's the NFL. The part of you post that's great is that Newton, Tuinei, Gogan, Crawford Ker - all drafted during the Landry days, and all started at some point for Jimmy Johnson.
12:09 These were the throws Aikman was so good at. Assertive dropback, compact and quick throwing motion, and almost a 27 yard throw to the sidelines, and thrown perfectly.
Even though the Cowboys haven’t been to the Super Bowl in a while I love them I in Texas so it’s a birthright…….RIP Pat Summerall and John Madden……I hope y’all will reply to this
Jimmy forgot more about preparing the team that he built for bigcrunch games than Jerry and Switzer would ever know. Before the threepeat game that Dallas lost Jimmy's preparations would have been far more professional. As it was they were out coached. Only their raw quality allowed them to fight back. And as for Jimmy leaving he got sick to shit of Jerry and left because of it. He says it on his career documentary. He recruited Allen, it was one of the last things he did even if Allen never started until after Jimmy had left.
The ‘21 wc game coming up bet these 2 will be their 1st playoff meeting in dal since this battle here in ‘93 for the nfc title and interestingly will also be on cbs
Most everyone was thrilled to see it. But some viewers in theRaleigh-Durham area were mad at WRAL-5 for audibling and showing this over Redskins-Cardinals, which was originally listed as the late game in local papers. WRAL carried most of the Washington games in the pre-Carolina Panther days and from 1992-97 their signal was transmitted on C-band for backyard dish owners unable to pull in their nearest CBS affiliate. Those fans with the big dish and able to get WRAL saw the Skins' decline from Super Bowl champions to 4-12 in only two years' time.
That sounds interesting bc I grew up in a part of sw Va where on our cable sys we had 2 cbs’s - 1 from roa which showed wsh@phx and the other cbs from tri-cities tn which showed sf@dal the game most in my town I’m sure were watching
49ers won 4 in the 80s won 1 in the 90s and were competitive for two decades. The boys had a great run of 4-5 years but were trash before 1991 and mediocre at best after 1996.
Even though they lost you can't help but appreciate the determination of Rice at the end snatching those passes in traffic. Guess that's why he's the best to ever do it
It's Plain to see How Desperate the Niners were getting, Even at that Time; The DeBartolos had the Refs in Their Pockets in 1994, But They were Busted by the NFL.
CBS seemed much classier with their coverage of the NFC compared to Fox. NBC having the AFC was amazing as well and of course ABC Sports having Monday Night Football was special. Now??? Too many dullards calling the games these days. Its too corporate for my liking.
Statistically, Young put up superior numbers albeit in the regular season as he didn't compare to Montana post season. In 92 and 93 they were a couple key defensive players(and a non-fumbling rb) shy of being able to stop Dallas. Then, after that, SF seemed to have their number although in 95 or 96 is when they gained Green Bay as their nemesis
@@arthurjacobfuentes7671 If you have not played on it or walked on it, it's true because I have. Making body dives are fun till you hit the cement. Rather play on grass till better turf came out unless a swamp like Candlestick park.
Seifert down 2 scores 28 seconds left on Dallas 23 yd line. Keep clock running and leaves offense on the field where they don't score. Why not kick the FG and go for the onside kick which was the only Chance thry had to win the game???
Because their intention was to score… And if they would’ve scored the touchdown there all they would’ve needed was the field goal after the onside kick…
Cowboys won three superbowls because they made plays when they mostly mattered they had a killer instinct stats didn’t matter only the rushing title offcourse lol but boy this current team doesn’t have that killer instinct
