Thanks for another terrific video! You have this ability to always pick the right cars to review. These cars were, in my opinion, pinnacle Honda. I wish that company still marched to the different drum they did back then. The driving feel and visibility these cars provided were leagues above anything else in their class, and they were assembled like jewelry. Like the 1985 to 1988 Cressida, if they put this car back in production, I'd have one tomorrow. And that, I think, is probably the ultimate compliment
Thanks, I really appreciate the sentiment, and the jewelry analogy is a good one, I definitely feel that. You'll have to thank the owner for submitting this car. This generation Accord was definitely on my short list but when the owner emailed me a picture of it, the combination of the car's excellent condition and high mileage, not to mention EX wagon, made this a great example.
I own this year and color in the LX version of the wagon and it's an absolute dream. I purchased it from the original owner family who bought it new in 1992 and in their 27 years of ownership only put 110,000 miles on it. They serviced regularly only at the dealership and it looks just as good today as the day it rolled off the showroom floor, and that is after It had sat unused for nearly 4 years under a tarp. Just a little wax and some fresh parts under the hood, it running great. I get asked regularly or get notes on the car when it's parked in public spaces, if it's for sale. Always a polite, "No, but thanks for asking." which usually leads to a conversation about them or a family member owning one previously and regretting trading or selling the car. Great review!
Love, love your reviews! These Accords were the best, ever. The 5-speed was godly to shift and provided a great way to learn how to drive. I graduated in 95 and these cars were everywhere. My buddy was allowed to drive his mom's 93 with a 5 speed and it was so great. That engine was gnarly and scooted around like an overconfident go kart. Such great times. Thank you for the time travel.
Subbed! Excellent review! I'm surprised you never brought up the wagon exclusive special automatic transmission though. The wagon's 4-speed trannies came with a Sport mode feature which held the gears and provided quicker shifts than the normal sedan and coupe automatic transmissions and makes it super fun to drive! Wagons also came with larger front disk brakes than the coupe/sedan models. I own a 1990 Wagon(Yes, they made 1990 wagons) with 203k miles on her and is still running great!
I had a teacher who drove one of these Accord wagons in white with a stick! It was a really awesome car. Eventually she gave it to her son and the engine blew and that was the end of it.
I had a metallic green 1993 EX-R wagon (Canadian model), and my uncle is still driving it after all the years. It still look really nice when I last seen it a few years ago. I missed this car!
This was great, probably the best video on this car. I learned a lot too especially the advantages of double wishbone suspension... I've always wondered about what other advantages of double wishbone other than handling👍🏾🔰🔥
I had a 93 sedan. It ran great until 321,000 miles when some drunk a hole slammed into it while it was parked in my driveway. It was by far the best car I've ever had.
Very cool Accord wagon!! I am enjoying my 2012 Acura TSX Wagon every day. IMHO, one of the best engineered Hondas (and I've owned Hondas since my first 1983 Prelude).
I have a white 1993 Accord Wagon EX. It super clean and like new still. It was my grandfathers car and he babied it and barely drove it. Maybe I should do a video soon.
Not gonna lie, I real jealous of this wagon. Mine isn't nearly as good looking haha. I will admit these old cars were built to last. Over 330k and still going strong. I'm in the process of swapping a manual transmission into mine lol.
Yeah it's awesome seeing a car with this many miles still so straight. I'm still in touch with the owner who recently acquired an '82 Mazda 626, low miles, it'll be on here soon. Go for the manual swap! It's been almost 8 years since I manual swapped my Cressida and I still have it.
I owned an 89 accord lxi...it was sweet. Rev happy engine, just the right size, flip up headlights...a nice looking sedan that most modern sedans have nothing on.
@14:08 that fabric is standard regardless of trim level hence why you see it... well in every trim level lol. @15:26 that armrest is also not specific to the ex
@@atomicautomobile8537 I know :( I had plans to but the temporary shutdown meant spending was at a premium on my end. She's still sitting in storage, hopefully I can get it worked on soon lol.
I paid a dollar for this car, it is a 1992 honda accord ex wagon, it has everything original and very few miles, some acquaintances of my father bought it at a palm spring auction for 1 dollar and now I bought them for a dollar and This like new never used until it has some brochures of its agency advertising like new a great gem over time, I'm investigating if I just made a record, what do you think?
always hated that weird reddish champagne color , Very popular back then. Im looking at a 92 wagon with 87k miles for 900 , trying to decide. Cuz it aint JUST about the drivetrain milage. the whole car and every part on it gets the milage & effects from time & ellements as well. Lights, wires, switches, sensors, body panels, glass, trim, carpet seats and everything else,. so if a car has 150k on it, while thats not much for a honda motor. many other parts feels the age imo.
@lakeside fight club OK cool I'm from Roswell, live in Charlotte now but I'm in the area every month or two still. jaustinbell@gmail.com if you wanna talk about it.
I thought it was my wagon in the thumbnail. I have a 93' wagon all stock with aftermarket radio... I bought it for $600 from the 2nd owner with 75k miles on it.
@@atomicautomobile8537 I like the Teal Green with Black and Tan interior, unfortunately that color was out of my price range when I found the one I have now.
I had a silver 93 accord 5 speed coupe. I drove that car everyday for 12 years and never saw another 1993 silver accord 5 speed coupe. Saw thousands of 93 accords. My buddy had a silver 93 accord wagon 5 speed like thos. Every time I saw hom he asked to buy my car. I saw him other day after 15 years he still has his 93 accord wagon he gets 600 plus hp now out the original motor. I junked mine 10 years ago. Worse discision ever
