Action from this unique event on the Caribbean island, as Irish Tarmac Champion Kenny McKinstry tries to become the first non-local to triumph on the country's tricky asphalt stages.
Originally broadcast on RPM Motorsport, with commentary by Alan 'Plum' Tyndall. This footage will remain live on RU-vid until Motorsport Ireland uploads an officially mastered version to its own channel, as part of its ongoing restoration of the Tyndall Archive. It appears here with kind permission of Motorsport Ireland.

Congrats on Motorsports Ireland recognizing how important it is to let people like you upload these old rallies! A certain Duke Video could learn a thing or two about making rallying and motorsports history more accessible.

It is indeed RPM, yes. I desperately wanted the chance to convert Plum's archive but Motorsport Ireland were the successful bidders for the footage. Thankfully there are good lines of communication and until their own version of this appears, they're happy for me to share it here.

That's one I've never seen before, cracking coverage, on point commentary . . . and as I've known Plum Tyndall for years I'll excuse the odd mis-spelling (like Paul Byrne). So much has happened in island rallying since then, not least Swift driver Andrew Mallalieu now being a member of the FIA World Motorsports Council - from little acorns and all that stuff! Barbados is certainly an island that punches above its weight . . .

Man this is a treat. Really enjoyed the video. I was born on that same year. Rallying sure was different and lets say more raw back then. Not that I'm one of those guys who says rally these days sucks and group B was real rally I really don't get those guys. The 2017 spec cars were my favorite by far and Hybrids are pretty cool as well however this is true that we need more teams at the top level. At least for 2023 now each team has got a Top level driver after Tänak joined M-Sport. And look at me going on a tangent when I just wanted to say Cool Video Thanks for that.

What kind of rally is this...lol? Buses, comic relief... can't get this kind of entertainment these days. Like a bunch of drunk uncles organizing an event
