1994-96 Honda accord main fuel pump relay fix 

I was just given a 1994 Honda Accord with 32,000 miles. The only thing. It’s sat for 10 years in the garage. I just finish spending $1,500. Replacing parts. If only I saw this video before I spent all the money. Thanks for you post.

Found this plus the comments and I fixed my 94 Honda Accord from not cranking in the heat with a simple solder of Fuel Pump Relay Switch, easy and cheap to fix over all the alternatives. Thank you and I hope you all have a blessed day or night peace ✌️🦉🖖

The location seems to be easier to access on 94-96 Accords, but the relay part number is the SAME for 90-93 Accords (and some Acura models, too!) Good video.

94 accord main relay located right of steering column under dash. Fairly easy to get to. Experiencing same issue with my accord. Headed to autozone now!

Thanks man this really helped, we thought it was the fuel pump replaced it and it didn't fix the problem looked into it and found it was the main relay. Didn't know how to fix it and found this video.

I did this for my 1990 Honda accord took it out and knew it was OK but it was fine my fuel pump was shot rusted out and also replaced my fuel sending unit in my gas tank 30 year old car started up no smoke running like a top after setting up for 3 years on my buddies property. Follow the leader they are in a Honda lol good video check this first as fuel pump was 160 bucks same for fuel sending unit replaced both for about 300 bucks.

My 96 does this almost every morning but usually after the 3rd try it starts the car runs fine its just always morning startup thanks for the vid.

I soldered the board and 5 of the 20 joints popped because they were so poorly created. A bad solder will have air pockets. I thought I'd get some in my eyes. New it was 58.. Thank you very much.

My 94 Civic vx relay was on the left where you first indicated. I resoldered all the places on the PC board rather than miss something. It worked just fine.

Thanks man you just made life easy started up after just nicely I had been having this problem for a while with the weather and all. simple like you stated just had to fish for the relay but Its possible easy simple fixed and saved about 50 dollars been a couple months now and still holding up!! Soldering was quick n easy not hard anyone can do it!

I learned from this video first and then I fixed my 2001 Honda accord. I believe it's 1997 to 2001. I did not attempt to sader it. I just went and bought a BRAND NEW FUEL PUMP MAIN RELAY off ebay for less then $20 and free shipping. ALL you have to do is get under the dash. before YOU GET UNDER THE DASH TAKE A SMALL FLAT HEAD SCREW DRIVER AND THE RELAY AND SET IT ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE FLOOR. So when you are under there Your head faces the center of the dash bottom.. Right there in front of your face is the relay. Once you find it take the screwdriver and pull the clip down in the bottom center. At the same time pull the connection out. Put the new relay in and wala. You don't even have to take the old mounted one out ! To much work. PLEASE give chotula some love. HE is the hero !

I would like to thank you for sharing this . My car died while driving it . I got it started a couple of times but had to get towed . Had it taken to the shop . They got in it started and showed no symptoms .They test drove it several times. Nothing. They tested the fuel pressure and told me if I left it with them they would dig deeper $$$$$ to try to find the problem . I opted to take it home .Next time I left the house same thing . I got it started and got it home. I found this video , went and got a new relay switched it and presto !!! My car was a 1996 Honda accord

thanks to you i found it i had d4 light flashing sometimes i had to wait for hours for it to start, i got the rely and seen corrosion and i just cleaned it, and it with a brush and it worked

Good tip I had this issue on my 99 civic it would shut down after I hit a bump on the freeway my relay was on the right side had to remove the glove box to change it out.

Hey bro thanks for the video I have a similar problem hope it works, on my case though I have to wait when the check engine light goes off so I can start my car if it stays on its a no go I have a 91 accord lx

I just repaired the fuel pump relay on my 2004 Honda Pilot. It stalled on my way to work last week and wouldn't start for about 5 minutes. After I got it started, I was able to turn around and safely make it home. It would then intermittently stall while I let it idle it the driveway, then stalled and I couldn't get it started again. I traced the trouble to the Main-Fuel-Pump-Relay. Found a connector on the circuit board was not making a good connection. I re-soldered it and it has been fine ever since.

Awesome video! Gonna try this. My 94 accord just got a motor swap along with a bunch of new parts under the hood (radiator, timing belt, o2, etc..) but it is dying out when I come to a stop. Check engine light is not on anymore which is a plus but can't figure this thing out 😕

Your video has been very helpful. My 1996 accord has unfortunately been a victim of car theft with it being it stolen a third time this morning. I'm getting frustrated to the point of just selling it since it has a target on its back if I even get it back. Even though my mother is willing to let me have her car, I would still feel bad for leaving her without one. So after seeing this video, as much of a somewhat of hassle it may be, I would probably start doing this maybe in conjunction with gettting an alarm system.

I've bought 2 brand new relays and nothing but if a use a jumper between 7 and 8 and turn the key on fuel pumps out just fine (disconnected at the fuel rail just after the fuel filter under hood) any idea what's not working? ECU?

Would this throw a code for check engine light when i put a metal pin in the obd1 port Mine stays illuminated no flashing or blinking. Same thing it does when i start the car i have to hold the key into the ignition switch for car to start

Just wondering I have the same accord and the thing is it starts but it has random misfires in cold start. When the engine starts warming up it idle and rev smoothly. Any thoughts?

I got a 96 prelude with the accord is basically the same thing just bigger. Question I have is mine runs great till the fuel pump gets hot and then bam the car just shuts off. Is that the relay or something else I gotta replace.
