Join me for the final curtain call of my Retroshiz deep dive looks back at the past with the 1994/95 Toybiz Spider-man the Animated Series, DAILY BUGLE PLAYSET!
My god. I am in complete shock at how incredibly detailed that masterpiece is. This exactly what I loved to play with as a kid. You definitely don’t see this type of work now a days, I miss these simpler times man.
I got one of these from "Santa" along with Venom II, it was awesome waking up on Christmas morning and seeing this. Played with it a lot and it was cool how modular it was, was able to have a few different set ups and the stickers and art were full of great details. I got a 2nd set for my birthday from a relative the following February. That summer, my mom asked me to sell one to make space and grabbed a few loose pieces, threw them in the box, and had me sell it at the flea market. This one kid kept coming by to look at the box and would ask me if it was complete it or not. I had told my mom it wasn't complete but she didn't seem to care, so I told the kid that it "probably was." He bought it for $15 and came back with his father about 15 minutes later asking for their money back as my mom had only packed the cardboard pieces into the open box. His dad was pretty upset!
I remember seeing this at a Kay-Bee toys in close out back in the day and thinking... i'll get it next time I see it.... Of course, they closed two weeks later.
Man around 2011-12 I bought up all those old awesome 90s playsets for my Nickelodeon TMNT figures. Never knew there were stickers for the dumpster or that lil red wench below the Daily Bugle building. Mine is missing those and the searchlight at the top. I have the clip just not the actual light. Never knew you could use the red girder like that.
I wonder if Haslab eventually will go to recreating play sets for legends, this is easily the most iconic and nostalgic play set, there is some potential there if it was done in bigger and more detailed manner.
Hi! I love your videos. I am from Mexico and there is one more play set that includes a spiderman figure with magnetic feet. When I find it I will send it to you.
goodness. that playset does the same for your spidey figs as the expression da vinci painted on mona lisa’s face. a touch that mades it so much more fascinating. shelf/ detolfs have nothing on a diorama toy made in the 90s 😆 keep the wall art i’m taking the spidey playset every time 😂 like & sub earned man, great vid!
@@ToyShiz might tell my doc i need a prescription of plastic to help me thru the madness 😂 hope you’re enjoying your evening take care. see ya on the flip vid
Amazing video! Oh the nostalgia! Toys really were so much better back innthe 90's! I've watched all your Spideram TAS videos and kinda dad this may be the final one but hopefully you can continue the original Marvel universe with 90s Iron-man, Hulk & Silver surfer ❤
Got this for Christmas when I was 7 years old. Enjoyed it, but was very cheaply made of cardboard when compared to other play sets of the time such as the ghost busters firehouse
I used to drool all over the pictures for this playset that came in the cardbacks of the figures, sadly we almost never got playsets for any action figure line in my country 😭
@@ToyShiz Costa Rica, we didn't get a lot here, getting something that was not Spiderman was a struggle, I think the villains were more sought after back then 🤣
The days of playsets are sadly over. The last big one I can remember is the 2012 TMNT sewer lair. The new one is cool and pretty big for a modern playset though.
