This is the roof renovation. I am so happy it is back on and done! It was much more involved than we thought. But it looks like we got everything back together and it goes up and down just fine, whew!
Your series is one of the best popup camper makeover series that I've watched. I recently purchased a 1985 Coleman popup for $500, currently in the middle of repairing the roof.
This is awesome. My main issue with renovating mine is the fact that idk what some of these pieces are called. Where can i find that trim piece on the roof that holds the side wall to the camper and other hardware?
We reused all the metal trim pieces (I scraped, sanded, primed, and painted them all with Rustoleum spray paint). We did buy all new screws as most were rusted out. We took an old scre to Home Depot and found the closest to it. We mostly used 1/2", 3/4", and 1" screw in #6, #8, and #10 depending where they were. You could try RV stores, but if it's older, they may not have any.
On the roof I used products I already had: Kilz dark base exterior primer (it's gray) and Sherwin-Williams exterior low sheen paint in Tricorn Black. It is the trim color on our house.
