A very brief selection of highlights from two of the USA's group matches and its second round match against Brazil during the 1994 World Cup, in which it was the host nation.
The only extant footage of forgotten US star Randy Cordoba can be found during the Colombia highlights. ;)

That injury Beto did on Tab Ramos was absolutely brutal, the US guys said they didn't blame Beto, but Beto was pretty shook at the accident and went and visited Ramos in the hospital I think. Hit broke his skull open around the temple, and they said if the skull didn't break, Ramos would have likely died because of the pressure.

A lot of Brazilians I know tell me that the U.S. Played amazing in that and is still remembred today.It was a good game the US stood up to the Champions and to most was what put the U.S. On the map ....well the start of the US rise in football.it was like. Pyrrhic victory for the US in some ways

We thought this match would be a lot easier, but the US team played very well. Maybe even the players were not prepared for such a difficult game, Leonardo was very skilled and also an experienced player, but he had a stupid sent off.

The 2002 squad was pretty talented as well. Still think that had they been awarded that hand ball penalty kick against Germany, maybe that team would be considered the best US side ever

This is my fave USMNT too, even if the 2002 WC side got even better results by qualifying to the quarterfinals and the 2010 version also reached the round of 16. Back in 1994 there was not even a professional soccer league in the US. The talent was definitely there: Meola, Lalas, Cobi, Balboa, Reyna, Wynalda, Tab Ramos.
