Chanting DEFENSE before the introduction... That's the 90s toughness that is so far in the rear view mirror..sadly. But what a time and I'm thankful to been apart of that era.
yup, so glad to have seen this first hand too. love watching the old intro's... I'd rather watch a Knicks game from 94 or 95 than a current one.. Went to Knicks games in the 90s, and went to one in 2017...just wasn't the same...
it's sad seeing that image of the Twin Towers in the first moment of this clip....but I LOVE the rest of it... will never get enough of these old openings
We also need to bring back someone like Pat Riley, John Starks, Charles Oakley, Patrick Ewing because they ain't coming thought that door any time soon
uh yeah...went to games in the 90s saw this intro, and later on they used the ODB mariah fantasy "new york in the house.." in 2017 when I went the last time, they used RTJ legend has it...just not the same, not as good a team, not the excitement, just fell flat for me
This New York Knicks era actually mirrors the Detroit Tigers' era of 2006-2014. 2 World series appearances, numerous playoff berths, and super stars who couldn't quite get it done, but great teams and players nonetheless. The Knicks played in several Conference Finals series, winning then in 1994 and 1999, and were stalwarts. The Tigers made it to 4 ALCS, winning 2. (I think the Knicks made it to 4 ECF, winning 2 as well). Very scary how similar the success levels of these teams, over a similar time span, was.
The NBA all stars avoiding the Knicks is not because of ownership, it's because they don't have heart to compete in the garden and accept the challenge of being a knick. Much respect to carmello and Amare.
if the Knicks finally get back to the playoff this year, we should have played this theme. Imagine this: at froward 6-8 from Kentucky, Number 30, Julius Randleeee! it will be amazing!!!
This is 90's basketball. Chanting defense to start the game is an Era I love, but don't think we'll get back to with everyone including centers now shooting 3's 😢
The loss to the rockets in the finals the year prior hurt. As a 15 year old, 1995 was my first full season watching every Knick game and really becoming a NYK fan for life. I was fortunate enough to go to game one against the pacers and the garden was electric! Soon the cheers became gasps after Reggie miller “the rat”, as my mom would call him pulled off 8 points in 8.9 secs to ruin the win. I always thought the Knicks would be them and ultimately go back to the finals after only Orlando stood in the way and get revenge on the Rockets. However, the worst pain I ever felt in all my 45 years was in this game 7. Watching it on TV, I had to turn away and started to cry. It was so painful, I just couldn’t express how it felt to me. It’s been a long time coming, now 30 years since they made the finals but I have always continued to be a Knick fan for life.
jaboo82681 there is a different voice several times throughout the season. Very few times though. Now this upcoming season, we won’t know obviously until the season starts.
God this is so sad watching the intro and knowing the final score. Imagine if Riley won the power struggle and got part ownership instead of getting that in Miami… 28 years and counting
Cause The Front Office With Dave Checkettes & The Rest Of The Crew Were Clowns....They Knew They Wouldn't Give Pat Riley Any Type Of Power And The Rest Was History From There
ABC coverage of the NBA isnt working out so Adam Silver please put the nba on NBA tv keeps fan night plus Saturday & Sundays nights Turner Wednesdays & Fridays on tbs Thursdays on TNT Nbc\CBS playoffs & NBA finals plus Sunday afternoon doubleheaders
Mike Beckmann he’s right because the following year the Bulls record was 72-10. This game here was the first of the Knicks getting eliminated in the 2nd round 4 consecutive times. 1995 by Indiana 4-3 1996 by Chicago 4-1 1997 by Miami 4-3 1998 by Indiana 4-1
Ewing misses a game tying shot in the final seconds of the game as the Pacers defeat the Knickerbockers 4 games to 3 in the eastern conference semifinals to face Orlando in the Eastern conference finals
