I assume you don't live in an area that uses road salt in the winter, or else this car would be rusting to pieces. Even 10 years ago I already saw these mid-'90s Acuras starting to rust, and most are long gone by now.
hm, didnt know people made fun of that leather style on the door. had to be one of my favorite features of alot of older honda interiors.. just added a great feeling of quality and comfort.
I miss my 96 tl 3.2 with my heart and soul. It was my first car... I own an acura rsx type s now which is my dream car but oh God man that 96 tl. The, best, daily, ever. For its time it truly was luxury. Power steering was effortless, suspension was like riding on clouds, huge vehicle but great turning radius, HEATED SEATS, great gas mileage, even for the 3.2, and a strong responsive engine. Good god I'd do anything for a mint 96 tl again.
I want to buy this' 96 to 2.5 tl but I was wondering if it would make sense to buy a slightly older car because of the maintenance and it being a luxury brand car would it be more expensive to buy parts if something would go wrong?
It's amazing how far cars have come as far as features go. Honda Civics come standard with traction control and you only have step up to an EX to get heated mirrors!
Great review ! Thank you so much for your inputs ! How low in the ceiling in the 95-97 TLs ? For my 6.3' frame the 98-03 CL was way too low, no fit . Even the 2nd gen 4-doors 98-03 TL was a bad fit as the sunroof option made me almost touch the ceiling with my head . Legroom wise no issues Not interested in the 2nd gen - notorious tranny issues - or 3rd gen - those fit me well enough but I prefer my manual 08 TSX - I love the simplistic style of 1996 TL / RL .
this model was my first car, same color and everything. i wish i took care of it than hack it up with mods. when i saw those projector fogs i knew i had to have it. those speakers up top were dope. i had them hooked up to my head unit and the rest of the speakers were hooked to a 4 channel amp music sounded so good. when i play go dj by lil wayne everyone who sat upfront trips out when the swish sound from the song comes up cuz it sounds like its moving from left to right
