I had a 98 prelude and a friend in our group had a GSR. We always had fun when we raced it was always super close. Just came down to who had the best launch and shifting.
When people think fast 4s 90s honda performance car normally it's a dc2 integra type R- b18c5 , SiR-b18c , ek9 civic type R,b16b ,SiR-b16a , the prelude was built more for comfort and luxury over performance, it was quick for it's weight and handling was very good, so it is a under dog going up against it's light weight cousins that have been built for performance over comfort and luxury , and the H22A is still underated over b and k series in the honda tuner scene , if tuned right with good modification I would pick h series, sounds the best too especially when hitting VTEC........
@@ZRIEST how is it an underdog when anybody with common sense could’ve told you a 2.2L engine will beat a 1.8L wtf did u expect?🤣 i swear people are getting dumber by the year go look up what underdog means df
That B series sounds like shit compared to the low howl of the H. Also, he might wanna check out his valve stem seals and whatnot in the H, burning oil big time. Did mine, and use Marvel Mystery additive and mine doesn't burn at all with 140k on it. Good race!
@@Jodeyjoe559 thanks! I thought it was a head gasket leak. I noticed that it burns oil and I got to put oil constantly, half a quart every 4 weeks. Is there any risk of cracking the engine block? Should I rebuild the engine ASAP?
@@alexromero5459 it could be headgasket too but usually you'll start loosing coolant, smoke colors are: white-burning coolant , blue/grey-burning oil, and black-overfueling, yes you do risk running engine dry/ low on oil and that can cause some bad damage like crack, just check ur oil level and coolant level every day or other day
@@Jodeyjoe559 thanks for the advice! I only drove it dry once for like 10 minutes and noticed the burnt smell since then I check it regularly, Im gonna save up to rebuild the engine this is my first car, planning to have this car like new, fix it up little by little.
Not the gsr. Prelude is heavier with 190hp 3,000lbs. Acura gris 170hp with around 2,500lbs. PRELUDE WILL NEVER WIN OVER THE GSR. I would like to see the type s try it. Might be close
prollly just from the low redline in the b1. Rev limiter is at 7k and the gearing makes it a little sad when hitting 3rd bc it drops so low but still a good feeling motor.
