This makes me miss my 98 Cobra SOOOO much!!! Black with black inside and silver Cobra R wheels, Bosani exhaust with a Vortec blower and of course it was scared of heights so I made sure it was super low to the ground as to not scare the poor thing LoL. Had it for 8 years and it looked better then it did when it was new not a scratch or spec of anything on it! I would only take it out on special occasions just because it was my dream car and I had finally gotten it and it was in such good shape and the milage was not even up to 10,000 yet. That is not a typo either! I was second owner and got it with 1500 miles on it and took it up to just under 10k in the 8 years of having it. It was a special occasion and I had my beast out terrorizing the streets and went to a friend's place to figure out what we were going to do and I came out just in time to see a drunk driver that was asleep and doing about 75-80mph not even touch the brakes and slam straight head on with it!!! My car was empty and the other guy was alone thank goodness but he more or less walked away from it with a little help from a Sheriff. He was wobbly from the crash it had nothing to do with blowing over three times the legal limit though......... I was just glad nobody was killed or hurt other then my poor car!! As bad as it was hit though the passenger compartment was completely untouched!! No cracks or anything!! That takes a well built car to take a hit like that and have no damage to the passenger area at all! That means everyone if inside would have walked away also! The front of it though, not so much. That was basically not even there, it was crazy

That is sad to hear. Glad no one was hurt but sucks when something like that happens and it could be avoided by common sense.

Curious what brand headers you have. I’ve got a 97 Cobra and I’ve heard people say if you have BBK long tubes you have to remove the passenger side of you do a clutch swap. Other guys have told me that you don’t run into that issue with Kooks. I’ve also heard others say they were able to do the clutch swap with BBKs and not have to remove the passenger side.

I have Hedman long tube headers. It would make it much easier to undo them or atleast loosen them off. However, I didn't want to do that lol. Instead I choose to struggle 😂

@@moderate_performance Did you remove the starter from the trans? If so how did you get in there with the LT's?

I did remove the starter from the transmission. To get those bolts out, I had to get a bunch of extensions and a wobble socket. Removal of the header would also make it easier

@@moderate_performance awesome thanks for the reply. Currently doing a clutch on my 97 cobra and my fat hands are not getting behind the starter with LT's, lol.

Hi Brian. Thanks for the input. This was one of our first videos and was tricky to get a good camera angle with two people underneath fighting the transmission. Some aspects of it were tricky to capture so we named it as a tips and tricks video. We're learning with every video we make.

I agree! I will need to change out my '01 Bullitt clutch in the near future and I have been contemplating picking up a QuickJack unit before doing so. Would have been nice to see how much room underneath the car when taking out the transmission.......
