I had to reflow the pins to correct flickering lights on the climate control of my 4th gen. I got this same problem on my 5th gen. I reflowed the pins. It fixed the problem just long enough for me to get very happy and proud. Then the problem came back and crushed me. I might try to reflow them again, but I’m concerned that I might add too much solder and the points begin to touch. I took off the blend door actuator and tested that the motor does work… but I don’t know if maybe the motor has gotten too weak. Replacement actuators are not available, but replacement motors to swap into the actuators are readily available and cheap.

Hey bro, thanks for the video. I ended up reflowing the board and still have the same issue. Just bought a used replacement climate control unit and will try that in case I soldered it wrong. If this doesn’t work, do you have any other suggestions? I verified the blower motor is working as I can feeling it vibrating when on and air does come out of the defrosting windshield and window vents.

Check the blend door actuator as well..

Sadly, mine couldnt be fixed this way. I noticed my A/C button also doesnt work because it only supplies 4.5v instead of 12v for some reason. Any ideas?

Try cleaning the actual button with contact cleaner and alcohol.. I tried that method before to a Nissan car, and that worked immediately.. haven't tried it yet to any Hondas.. if this doesn't works, a known good and functional part is your best bet to have for a better reference..

How would u go about fixing the fan speed on mine the second speed is completly power less 1,3,4 are fine ..rear defroster dont work either

For the defroster: check fuses #34 under hood, fuse #11 and R6 Relay under dash (kick panel) if fuses and relays are good, check voltage from actual switch and rear glass. For the fan switch, it is separate circuit within the climate control, more than likely the sliders are not having a good contact, you can try to clean it..

im having the same problem with mine. did what you did but thew problem has been resolved. By chance do you know if the pins you soldered were able to has electricity flow through them or not? thanks

I didn't trace the pins to their designated traces, but I'm assuming they didn't have any broken line / traces.. if you're going that route, it'll be hard to acquire the boards schematics.. but soldering the pins is definitely a known fix for this type of control module..

hey Pinoy-Style-DIY, I enjoy your videos on the prelude 5th gen, would you know why I cant turn from cold to hot all the way on the climate change??? I can change it to the heater but it wont go all the way, maybe like 3/4 of the way then it wont go anymore

Check the cable for slack, you should be able to see if the lever pulls the cable all the way..
