My brother Dave was the left guard for KC and Madden spent the first quarter making fun of his stance (which was bad). But he was facing Dana Stubblefield who had a great year and eventually was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year. Dave kept him in check and by the end of the game Madden was singing his praises

They got cheated on. Three of the Chiefs touchdowns (Rison, Popson, Rison) were out of bounds (one foot in and one foot out). This is not college football where you can get away with having one foot out of bounds.
They were on an 11-game winning streak but all 11 games were against teams with losing records. They hadn't played a team that was even any good, let alone a top team, since the first week of the season (a game they lost).

I didn't get it as a kid, don't get it now. Seemed like he was the hot hand to ride with. So sunk cost fallacy, maybe? Like they got Grbac in the off-season, so maybe they figured they had to play him? Would've had a better chance of meeting Pittsburgh for the AFC title instead of losing to Denver had we started Gannon instead.

Wow, how much the Chiefs cheated in this game! The two touchdowns by Rison and the touchdown by Ted Popson were out of bounds! Referees are blind and stupid! In the NFL you cannot get away with having one foot out of bounds!!!
