Just got my Grand Hiace 1999 1kz-te full time 4wd! You have no idea how many times I watched your videos already haha they're really useful, thanks for making them, Nathan!
Hey, I don't do any monthly maintenance besides checking the tyre pressures. I've just uploaded a long boring video covering my usual maintenance regime.
Outstanding review and I envy that you drive on the right hand of the street. So I couldn’t import one to Costa Rica. However, I am rebuilding mine -a neglected 1999 Van with 450,000 Km- to its former glory. It’s been almost impossible to source rear lid mirror, albeit in Australia but the vendor will not ship to the USA. I am probably going to buy one for the Coaster and adapt it. Also, I wish mine the LH112 version had a tachometer, but I cannot find a compatible one over eBay UK for the 2L Diesel engine. Perhaps you can point me in he correct direction!
Hi Nathan, great video matey! I am from Hobart, TAS and have a 1996 version - Basically the same as yours but mine's the brown over silver colour and I don't have rear seats.. It's also not as in good condition as yours asthetically.. It is mechanically good however! Nice to see another passionate Hiace SC owner :-) Do you see many cruising around Perth/WA? I see literally only a few every now and then in Hobart! The only annoying thing I find about driving them on tracks is that they bottom out in the middle a bit if there's tyre ruts on both sides but hey, still very capable! I ujse Bridgestone Dueler A/Ts on mine so a similar tyre to yours by the looks of it. Cheers, James
Congratulations on your van, I love these models from the 90-2000, unfortunately there are few available, I want to buy an imported one in Japan, I like these old models, the more modern models are not so pretty, and they are too square
Hey Nathan, love the videos man they’ve been a great resource as I look into importing a hiace super custom limited... do you know what grade your car received at auction?
Hi NS87, I'm ready to replace my water temperature sender. Does a lot of coolant gush out when you remove the sender? I see you put towels underneath and topped it off afterwards?
Hey mate. If the cars been running and cooling system pressurized it will dump about half a quart. Nothing to worry about. Just top it off, cap on and go. Remember to use a deep socket so you don't damage the electrical connection on the sender.
It's called Scotchgard Fabric and Upholstery Protector. About $10 a can from a hardware store. Repels water, spills and wear and tear as well as UV damage.
What are one the rough costs to import one? Thanks, what a beauty currently driving Pajero NL but I miss my Elgrand E50 Homy which suffered the fuel pump failure 😭⛽
Hi, thanks for reaching out. I got mine imported, registered, complianced etc all for one price by custom coaster conversions. If you search custom coaster conversions on gumtree or Google you should see their current stock or stock on its way to Australia. Some have cruise control, was an option. Mine just doesn't have it.
@@righthand7965 they were about 14k when I got mine. Since then everything's gone up. Plus there's a shortage of good ones now since the US is snapping them up. I've heard from Japanese people in Japan who can't get any since exporters buy them up and ship them out. I have heard that Hugo who owns custom coaster conversions can find stuff per someone's budget so might w Be worthwhile contacting him.
Privyat! I was born in Fiji, raised in Auckland, New Zealand with English great aunts and uncles and have lived in Australia for about 10 years so I have a mixed accent/ culture.
@@nathansharma87 no I'm in Sydney! Mine was used as a work van before so pretty miss treated and had some temp issues and hence getting head replaced. ( Very expensive) it has so many issues but I'd like to get it all fixed up just seems like an up hill battle. What was the android head unit you put in? You should list the stuff you talk about in the description maybe get yourself sold affiliate cash :-)
