I love my 1994 Hiace SC import which I've had for 15 years. I've driven it to Gibraltar, Germay, Italy & Ireland during that time. I can well understand why you love your Hiace.
Yeah you're absolutely correct, Its probably one of the most perfect conditioned/maintained supercustom wagon out there and its happy to have you as its owner. Like a dog with loving master. I wish my family had the means to maintain our Hiace Supercustom like you do. Right now it is demanding so many replacement parts and PMS but we just deal with it and drive it smoothly and as careful as possible just to maintain our 3L 2.8 engine. BTW it is converted into standard transmission. So just keep on loving its minor problems. Come on sir, its old and from the 90s its got a valid reason to have those imperfections.
I wish mine was anywhere near this smooth-running and good-looking. You've done an amazing job. And be glad you're not also dealing with camperization maintenance!
She's a beauty Nathan and in incredible condition. Your TLC really shows. Mine is quiet nice too but not equal to yours. Mine is an every day driver too and she has her share of small issues. I love her anyway. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you came around man! Yours is in very good condition. These things have adventure in their hearts. They never die. I've had so many memories with mine. Just last week I put it sideways in a 2M ditch (I'd love to send a pic) and filled with mud. Currently Its better than its ever been. I stripped it back to metal. deep cleaned it and slapped it all back together. I knew it wouldn't care. Only think I was worried about was the Digital dash that filled with water but after disassembling cleaning and reassembling it works fine! I cant believe it hahah. Its actually brighter and clearer then ever since then hahah! When I turned it on a couple days after the incident I heard this horrible metal on metal sound. I thought something was in the starter motor. After some inspection I found the underbody guard had wrapped itself around the exhaust from ramming through some small trees. After fixing that with only my hands I found that it stopped an annoying rattle I had at low rpm. This van truly gets better after everything I throw it at. Most peopel thought it was a rightoff. And honestly for how deep it was in that ditch it barley has a scratch! hahah
I'm glad it's ok, I've seen one tipped over and it literally polished out. Ramming trees?! That's too deep for me bro, I still want this in 25 years from now. I do that and in 5 years I'll just have an exhaust and maybe a sun visor left 😂
@@nathansharma87 Hahaha No I wouldn't recommend bush bashing. I'm just saying I've put mine threw hell and it still keeps going. Not even the monsoon gaurd cracked hahah! Side mirror still in place too. I think I already told you a tractor hit me earlier this year. Did more damage to the tractor ahahah.
@@nathansharma87 Yet all new stuff cant hold up. It might be very safe but you have one crash and its written off or ruined. I see new cars with smoke or broke down on the side of the road. Ive never had break down! Except of course the battery running dead.
Even though my Hiace is newer, it still has the same annoyances. Yesterday after washing it I noticed some minor surface rust along the top rear where the hatch latches are. I got lucky as my dealer offered to repaint the area for free. My dealer has taken good care of me in the eight years I have owned it. :)
I’m looking for a pair of those same headlights and indicators I would really appreciate any help you can give me to source them….I don’t know anyone in Japan.
the reason i bought one is because you CAN work on them. there are literally some parts and components on modern cars that even fully equipped workshops cant service because the OEM wont sell the tools or parts. the only option is to send them back to the dealer. old cars and the right to repair go hand in hand and it saves you money and stress from wondering if a shoddy mechanic has put the sunroof in properly or not
