Thanks for the video. Everything works, but my radio doesn’t turn off with ignition. If I forget to manually turn off it drains my battery. Do you know the problem?
I have a 1994 toyota t100..what size stereo do i need to no have to buy a dash kit. like the one you got on the video does it just fit like it needs to? does it have to have the 6.2 inch?
I sometimes can't understand why car makers put head units in such wierd locations. Driving a vehicle should mean that all important information items should within sight line of the driver. This install show how ridiculous the positioning of the OEM radio is for driver safety.
It's not difficult, using a T-tap connector, tap into the only wire that comes off the parking brake assembly (which is a ground wire), and connect your Pioneer's green wire into that ground, using that T-Tap. Alternatively, Pioneer and Alpines can be bypassed with a "microbypass relay", and all other brands can just simply be grounded.
I have pioneer mvh g219bt in my car i wanna connect steering wheel controls with the head unit there are three wires from the steering controls key1, key2 and ground. I got a 3 core 3.5 mm jack along with this pioneer head unit but there's 1 more wire in the head unit with a tag "steering remote control" please help me to make the right connection.
if you have that head unit with cd & tape player sitting around i’ll take it off your hands! my tape player went out and if i can avoid having to repair it i will haha. thanks!
Do the ground on the parking brake mechanism (the only wire present). Just used a t-tap. Alternatively, you can use a bypass (if using a Pioneer), or simply ground the parking brake wire if using any other radio brand (besides alpine and pioneer).
