Don't know how effective it actually was but my understanding of the purpose of staggered shocks on the rear was to control axle wrap. The pickups had plenty of torque but mot much weight over the rear wheels. The Bilsteins were outstanding shocks and a huge upgrade back in the day. If you double- check I think you may find a similiar set-up on your current ZR2. Mine is set up that way as is my Blazer ZR2.

2 inch lift........probably had 33's on it! Toward the end of the vid you get a great shot of the power steering cooler. Question for you, did your Sonoma have the same set-up or was this ZR2 specific because of the 31's?

@@waltersteffensthezr2man431 I always wondered ........ But not enough to pull the grill off a non- ZR2 lol. The cooler is not like a finned cooler it is simply the tubing that crosses back and forth in front of the radiator on the driver's side.
