I missed before how Luke just manipulated Jason. It was subtle and slick. By suggesting that Bobbie might have rights, he got Jason to say no and got out of telling Bobbie.
Funny that so few of the people back then knew anything about Postpartum Depression. And it is still amazing how many people still do not understand it. It is a very real thing. And women who suffer from it, are still to this day, are often treated abominably. So many people doubted that Carly actually had Post Partuem Depression, especially Robin, who was so contemptuous of her, and so sure that she would not come back. But they were wrong. And later on, during the custody trial, Alexis was just brutal to Carly about whether or not she had post parfumerie depression . did come back.
You have it backwards. Luke never knew Carly,. He never took the time. Jason always knew what Carly was doing. Jason loved Carly in spite of her actions. But he was never fooled by her.
@Damien Blaze Well Jason and Luke both don't like the Q's either. Because Luke told the old man Edward this baby isn't for sale. Because Luke doesn't hate Carly because they are family. But Jason would get angry at Carly and yell at her if he has a good reason to. But he would never take advantage of her just like you accusing of taking advantage of Jason is ridiculous. Because Jason always have good judgment even when he is trusting the wrong people that he is associated with.

Sonny warned Faith that if she was going to be a player in the mob and his enemy she would be treated like anyone else in the business. That being a woman would not protect her. She did not listen. I would not feel sorry for Faith. She tried to use the fact she was a woman to manipulate Sonny and Jason. Faith was crazy. She got what she brought on herself. Karen herself later admitted that Sonny did not force her to do anything.

I'll never like that they wrote Jason as Carly's protector, friend, that he would put up with all her lies and drama, that he would take on the care of the baby, etc. etc. SO out of character. Carly character coming on the story was/is the ruin of Jason as I enjoyed watching him in most of '96. "That kid doesn't belong to anyone" he says here, but he became SO possessive of Michael . . . poor decision on the writers part. Luke is telling the truth about carly not wanting that child except for using him . . . Jason defends carly. Ugh.
I think you’re wrong. Carly loved Michael. Luke is showing his ignorance and his bias. I understand how he felt about Carly because what Carly did to Bobbie was reprehensible. But then Luke’s actions were not exactly pure. He has no idea about post partuem depression. For someone who likes to think they know everything, he is clueless about that.
Oh, I disagree. It is exactly Jason’s character. Admittedly, he was clueless about what he was getting into, but his motives were good. Jason was loyal to a fault. Carly was a friend and he could see she was going to lose her baby simply because AJ and Tony were more influential and had more resources than Carly. He believed that was unfair. People keep saying he took him from his father. But you could just easily say he saved him for his mother. Which was more important?
No, Luke was wrong about Carly. If all she wanted was money, then why did she turn down every offer? Nearly everyone involved offered her money, but she did not take it. Just because Carly did some bad things does not mean she did not love her child. Luke did some bad things, but he loved his kids. Carly’s subsequent actions prove he loved her child.
Honestly Jason being Carly’s protector always made me sick, I’m like this woman has lied-cheated-manipulated to always get things her way by playing the victim card.
