In this video we continue the DIY Pro series with the third video of the series in which we upgrade all of the door speakers in our Acura TL. The DIY Pro series is meant to cover installations in a thorough and easy to follow format so those at home can accomplish the upgrades themselves.

Brackets work good. But instead of cutting the door you can just hammer the edges which saves time. It makes a bigger hole without having it look all scratched up.

I bought the Mobile Max Car Audio speaker adaptor kit shown and installed some larger mid-range speakers in the rear doors of my Acura TL. The kit certainly made it easy with the included fasteners. I did need to cut a larger hole in the door, but I was able to mount the adaptor first, and use that as a stencil to draw a guide line to make a nice clean cut with my multi-tool. unsure I think so the depth is similar to the jvc but we have not tested it.

CL and TL share the same radio and front speakers. The rear speakers are 6x9 in the CL. We do not have plans to make a video series on the CL.

We literally show you how to do it without our adapters. We show you how to do it with the factory adapter or with a universal one. Did you even watch the video before you commented?

Video does a great job of showing you how to do it both ways, AND that for conventional 6.5” speakers you will need another method for mounting the speaker. Having owned a 2nd Gen TL, I can say their adaptor makes it look easy.
