I thought that the ATF dipstick should be read while the engine is running and warm.

The factory service manual mentions bringing the engine up to normal operating temp, turning off the car, then checking the fluid level.

The VSS is located to the left of the oil filter if you're facing the front end of the car. I don’t know if your respond to this but I have a 1999 Acura RL and the transmission I believe hasn’t been changed since about 116k miles it has 170k had 168k when I bought it is it even safe to change the transmission fluid.

Yes, I would replace the fluid. I just wouldn't let a shop flush it.

hello, i have 96 rl 3.5 when i tune the steeting to the right or left without stared the engine keep have a big cluk sounds what cause it or what is the problem. please let me know. Thank you. i love your rl video. thank you. hope to hear from you soon.

I'm assuming you hear those noises while driving and turning the wheel, also? You could have a steering rack or tie rod issue. You may need a second person to assist with isolating the noise.

I noted you said this had a blown head gasket when you acquired it...did you change that yourself...?

I replaced the engine instead. I got a lower mileage engine for about as much as I would have spent replacing the head gaskets.

You didnt show us how to put freon in the low pressure port. I cant find the low pressure port on my 1999 acura RL 3.5L

It has a high pressure port in front of the radiator. I followed the lines and cant find a low pressure port

@@julieconn8299 I didn't show recharging the AC system with refrigerant because it's not typically needed. If you're routinely charging the AC, you have a leak somewhere. The low pressure port is located near the brake fluid reservoir - it's on the AC line that crosses over the rear of the engine cover.

@@julieconn8299 Most AC leaks are very slow, so she may be able to get through the summer just fine by recharging the system.
