The Miami Hurricanes became a stronger unit after this game. By far one of the best comebacks I remember seeing. I watched this game in my room mad on my 19inch TV because they was losing but I didnt loose hope. They only lost one more game after this to Va Tech and ended up finishing 9-4. It set the tone for the 2000 team. Ken Dorsey was also discovered in 99, from which Kenny Kelly got benched at the end of the year. Everyone thought this was over but The U never dies.
the best part about getting this win, was listening to the other games halftime shows breaking this game down and being shocked by such a comeback. I just wish things were the same... but I get it....yet still....
Played for the browns, packers, and cardinals. Not much happened(325 rushes for 1082 yards and 5 td's)(32 catches for 232 yds). Last year playing was in 2005. Little did we know Clinton Portis was waiting in the wings.
if this is any resemblence of present times (losing 3 games straight, vs this season losing 4) our season next year should be dominant. and we were getting over sanctions around that time
What a great game!!!! One thing will always confuse me. Larry Coker was the offensive coordinator from 1995 until he became Miami's head coach. How come the last his three years as head coach Miami had no offense? Rob Chudzinski left as OC after the 2003 season then the offensive went to garbage. How can a former OC turned HC not have a good offense? The 2006 game against Virginia Tech, the defense held VT to 141 total yards on offense and we still lost 17-10. Amazing, simply amazing.
we owe FSU and VT BIG TIME!! those are games we need to win to restore some confidence. we'll beat ND im not worried about them. this new miami regime has a tendancy to lose to teams we have no business losing to and coming up short against good teams...making a BCS game could mean us coming back...if USC can come back we can...college football is better when miami is good. i been a fan since 87'
yikes...i would love to see 8 or 9 wins but damn...im kinda thinking about that K state road game..if we can win that game that would be HUGE! all the other tough games are at home VT, FSU, UNC..there is no way we should be losing at home to teams this year..this has to be the year because we have a junior QB and some talent but we dont have alot of talent at RB or WR...if we can win 9 games and at least make it to the ACC title game we could reel in some big talent finally.
I hate to disagree with you my friend but Coker could have did more with the offense. He had Randy Shannon to run the defense. Shannon wasn't a good head coach but he knows defense. Check out the 1999 bowl game Miami vs Georgia Tech. Look at that offense, Coker was calling the plays if you can believe that. Check out Coker's last year as HC, 2006. Nothing like this 1999 team. Coker got lazy and got fired. I think this season we are going to surprise a few people. 8 or 9 wins, your thought
well when coker was calling the plays we did great but as soon as he gave that job to someone else the playcalling was shotty and mediocre..they turned into the west coast offense. miami has always been a power running team. people think miami was this high flying team but miami lined up in the I and ran the ball at people. i never said coker was a bad OC but as a HC he was not a good choice they should have hired barry alvarez when they had the chance....
the play calling was horrible and when he became HC it was too much for him to handle..he also fired art kehoe and a few other people..he tried to change the recruiting pipeline and miami still has not recovered.
