Finally! Thank you for the video. I too, kept finding misinformation online. Basically connect the blue harness wire to the deck's 12v output wire. My 93 Burb rear speakers are finally working.

That's because it goes to a factory amp (location caries by model year and trim level). If you didn't see one under the driver's seat, or in the glove box, it's probably where mine is located... If you follow the blue wire, it probably leads to a metal box just to the right of the steering column. That is the factory rear door speaker (2ch) amp. ('97 GMC Suburban SLT, K2500.)

There is a factory amp for the rear door speakers. The location may vary by model year, and trim level. Some may be under the drivers seat, GMT800 Suburbans are behind the glove box, on the right side. In mine, there's a box next to the steering column (amp) that the blue wire goes to, and it has to be connected to the ANT/12V Aux Power Trigger wire (blue) from the head unit, just like you had connected. That wire powers the factory rear door speaker amp. Without it there is no sound. If you're going to use an aftermarket amp, you'll either bypass the amp and connect in on the other side, or (probably smarter) forget using the factory speaker harness and run new, dedicated aftermarket wires to the door speakers, either from the head unit (no amp), or from your aftermarket amp, over to the doors.

Was your passenger side rear door wires, on your suburban red and tan like everybody else’s ? Online everywhere states the passenger side rear door says theyre Blue and Light Blue? Mine and every other video shows red and tan . Don’t know which is positive and negative so I can run my new alpines in phase !

I’m getting a constant relay click when I power off. Everything seems to work fine with power on, but the relay right next to my factory amp (mine is behind the lower dash above the gas pedal) start clicking g when I turn the key off. Any ideas at all? I removed the relay and lost sound in the rear doors

I found the same thing on my 99 Tahoe. I connected the wire labeled power antenna and got the amp powered up but, only the right door speaker works. The power amp is located under the dash on the right side of the steering wheel and it is buried. I need to trace the wires to that speaker. Do you know where the wires for that door run? I was unable to find them in the left a-pillar and head liner.

What if you have sound from the rear door speakers but nothing from the speakers by the barb door??

Thanks for the video and info, but here’s what I found … I have a 99 Chevy LT Suburban and my rear doors speakers stoped playing, I also notice that my center cigarette lighter wasn’t working, so when I changed the fuse for the lighter my rear door speakers started playing , I’m guessing the stock amp that runs the rear door speakers shared the same fuse as the cigarette lighter which is a 20amp fuse! Who knew! Thanks for the content!!

Where is that specific fuse located which number or location I blew mine must have I put a ground wire inside the cigarette outlet to trigger a positive current arch for my parking brake bypass wire on my pioneer Must have like you said cause the rear amp fuse to blow

@@Chevro91 fuse is located on the driver side dashboard, I don’t recall the fuse location number but the fuse box lid has list with fuse information. Hope this helps!

@@spongebobbies ya I knew it was in there 👍 just figured you knew the # off the top I don't think they match the fuse name with the location# on the cover on the obs trucks ... but I'll check But it's good your post Led me down the right path. I was confused as to why all my new rear speakers in both rear doors all sudden quit , I remember when I put in my new Pioneer nex I had to arch out the parking ground wire in order to get the OEM reset settings too light up in the settings menu. Something with pioneer that helps if the ground doesn't turn on the sub menu settings the tech people said if you can't get the grayed out settings to light up just touch the parking brake wire to a ( Positive) for a split second and it gives the unit the trigger it needs. I arched out the ground on the center cigarette lighter and so happens ever since they stopped working 👍👍

Same weird red and tan wire color with just passenger side rear . My 99’ suburban is the same According to every car audio source I called and the 12volt source along with Crutchfield online wiring diagram the rear passenger door speaker wires are supposed to be blue and light blue?? Why is some people have red and tan? I can’t determine which is positive and which is negative

Can collect the blue aftermarket harness wire to your deck 12v out/antenna power wire. Usually, your stereo will have a sticker or manual that explains what each color on your deck wires are for. After collecting the dash wires, In my 93 burb, I had a wires coming up out of my floor under the driver's seat with a rectangular shaped connector. It wasn't connected to anything, but in a junk yard I found another one in a Tahoe that had a small electrical box/amp. I plugged it in and my rear speakers started working.

Check if your center cigarette lighter is out, that fuse (20amp) powers both… the lighter and the amp, I own a 99 LT Suburban
