This is a good way to upgrade your speakers in your GMT800 Truck Metra Speaker Adapters: amzn.to/3WWM9vM Speaker Foam Gasket: amzn.to/3WZkwCm Thicker Speaker Foam Gasket: amzn.to/3WNEUpP Speakers I used: amzn.to/3WXn6bM
Man, you did a really good job of explaining things. Serious question tho, does this setup really sound any better than the Bose speakers when using just the stock power? Back in my stereo addiction days, you had to put an amp on aftermarket component speakers to really make them happy. Great video.
Yea you bring up a great point! To me, it literally sounds the same. This is only good if you're planning later on to add an amplifier to them, or if you have a blown bose speaker
I have the Bose in my 2003 Duramax crew cab . I have kenwood stero and amp and two 12s so I just replace the door and tweeters with different using the same stock wires right ? Don’t need to add no crossover or whatever ? I’m new to the audio
amazing video like always dude quick question what radio would you recommend and what subwoofer for my 04 Cadillac escalade esv i got no sub and standard Bose setup with the Navi radio am looking to upgrade cheap but still quality thx
Not sure how much of a budget you're on, but rhe kicker comp line is decently cheap but sounds great, at least to me. Also I am doing a video here soon on the three ways to bypass your bose. Some of them are free with a harness back way back behind your head unit
Hey...i thought there were impedance issues with replacement speakers. I want to get rid of the junk speaker in my Cadillac xlr door. Do you have a recommendation of a speaker that will work with the stock crap head unit?
Hello I have a question. I saw your speakers are 4 ohms impedance. Did you install a new amp because as far as my understanding goes. The amp doesn’t support 4 ohm speakers.
the amp supports 4 ohm speakers, they're just a tiny bit quieter than the stock speakers, but you would never know unless you always have the volume all the way up
I am getting ready to order these speakers and was wondering how they are holding up? Did you use the crossover for the tweeters? Great video, not many out there changing the tweeters in the A pillar.
they still sound great. Yea I just used the factory crossover wiring, and just swapped speakers. I sold it, but it was to my friend who lives up the street from me, so I still get to drive it every once in a while
I have 3 pairs of those. Theyre midrange speakers, not coaxial speakers. Most ppl would be disappointed dropping those in because theyre made for volume and arent made for any kind of bass like coaxials are. Its just two diff types of speakers. Coaxials work better with factory Bose systems, the Deaf Bonce would receive too little power and the filters would be incorrect
Dawg what about the crossover also the ohms don't match the factory bose amp specs those tweeters have built in crossovers or is there a box that goes with it you thoroughly explained everything except the important stuff you can't just use any speaker in place of a bose 1.9 ohm front and 3.9 rear so not sure everything would sound right maybe I'm wrong But I thought the correct way would be to run wires to each speaker and run a 4 channel amp For the interior speakers with an aftermarket radio otherwise leave the bose speakers in
Right.? I have same system, Bose 9 speaker. I'v had several radio shops tell me the Bose system is super sensitive to the specific ohm ratings that are the factory speakers and they have all recommended either dump the factory amp entirely and build it back or go back with exactly the same ohm speakers everywhere or else problems and/or poor sound will follow. So idk yet for my truck
I bought nvx 2ohm components for the front. Used the crossover for the tweeter and used the main speaker connected to the stock wiring. (No crossover) Infinity 3ohm components in my rear. Sound loud and perfect
Bose is a good company when it comes to sound but, the materials that they used on these GM trucks for the speakers were, low quality materials. Why did Bose do this? Simple, save the company money.
in all actuality the Bose is a much better speaker than the alpine ( frequency wise) if you do this upgrade you are going to be disappointed, i promise you! If you dont plain to add an aftermarket amplifier then you should not do this upgrade unless the speakers blown
Yes, the only difference should be the ohm rating of the factory speaker. Size should be the same, but if you just get 4 ohm speakers you should be just fine
