Thanks for video, I really enjoyed your explanation. I am currently looking at getting myself a Prado. Reliability and maintenance cost is top of mind. I intend to use the vehicle for touring with the family towing a 1300kg camper trailer. I understand there are many variables when choosing a vehicle. In your opinion which engine is more reliable and overall less costly to maintain. 1KD or 1KV. Cheers.
Hi Mr. Anthony ... first and foremost I love all your videos ... you are doing a great work sharing years of knowledge with the Prado owners ... I have 2 Toyota Prado 2006 SWB LJ125L with 5l-e 3 liter motor which I really love ...Please consider a making a video on these type of Prado since they are similar BUT quite diferent in some respects... example ... with the tank on the rear it's difficult to get after market towbar / the steering feels completely different in these Prado / what possilities to make good use of the small rear cargo space / there is a great void space where the fuel tank goes in the large Prado version , any possibility of making use of this space? ... do you know of any history of this SWB cars ... I love my non turbo engine no headaches :) ... thanks
Same bloody thing with MZR-CD engines too... Once your washers are done, oh boy... I had oil burning, engine surging, all kinds of horrible things happening. Why? Because they are under the valve cover gasket. Blowby pressure builds up there, so not only oil gets down into the cylinders when engine isn't running, but it also will push oil through pcv system, thus burning it. It's messy and ridiculous design.
Good day mate I have a sister in Melbourne lilidale her car Toyota hi-lux has a problem in fuel injectors and the mechanic told them to replace the whole Engine and I was surprised the problem is only the fuel injectors can you give an advice or a mechanic near lilidale
@@Fourby4Diesel When they're leaking do they make a strange fluttering sound on the over-run? My 1KD Prado is doing this and throwing an engine check code, P0203, which is for a cylinder 3 fuel injector fault.
Hie , i am having a problem with my d4d .i did a engine overhaul when it started only two injectors where working when i took off the sockets. Number 1 and 4 where not working ,but i had them fixed the injectors
Hey, Ive got an issue where my engine (1KD) is blowing a good puff of blueish white smoke on cold start up but goes away after couple seconds with some blowby from oil cap. Starting to think it may be the injector seals?
Poor workmanship is poor workmanship. Sometimes that comes from a dealer or a independent. Plenty of folk working on cars the dont know there A-hole from there elbow.
