I've been loving this little toothpick. The Fat Pinch Cam from @TinyWhoop took a few packs to get used to, but once I did, I was having the most fun I've had flying since I started FPV. The Babytooth Frame and build guide can be found over at FPVcycle.com. I highly recommend everyone have at least one of these to mess around with. Great practice and worry-free fun. Durability of the frame seems solid so far but keep in mind the board is mostly exposed...

Awesome build. Mine is very similar. I use the flywoo 1203 11500kv motors. Also the emax 3" bi blades are slighty more reactive that the GF 3018. Emax Avia TH1609 they are called I think. My favourite cam is the foxeer razer pico for good image and ultra light builds. Not too much of a trade off in weight vs image quality. Oh and most important for performance are the 1S lipo. The tattu rline 500mah are great. Also the dogcom 550mah 1s. They make all the difference. The betafpv 12A elrs aio is doing a great job too. All in all very similar, just whatever parts we have on hand. Love it.

Thanks for the comment Chris - a lot of good info you shared. I was thinking about the emax props myself. You like them better than the 3018s? Only thing I found with the emax props were they tend to get beat up fast, no? Also, do you run an xt30 on yours? I definitely need some better batteries. I was thinking about building another with a baby ratel 2 because I love that image in all types of lighting but it's a bit heavy. I never tried the pico, maybe I'll look into that. Thanks again!

@Wild_FPV
@Wild_FPV Год назад
@@user-yk1cw8im4h These 1s 3" quads in general are so quiet also just because of how slow the props are spinning. It's all down to the insanely low disc loading that they have. With a 75mm whoop you have a little more disc loading so props are spinning a lot faster.

@@MoeFPV yeah 1s 3 inch is just godly, i used to love 2.5inch 3s, like more than my 6s 5 inch. but this new low voltage sleeper 3 inch builds are growing on me. i still love my hdzero 6s 5 inch the most tho haha. the only problem is when u crash it or annoy people with it, thats where the toothpick shines. also i dont crash £800 toothpicks into the sea like i do 5 inches 🤦‍♂️

! I am super happy to hear it and thank you for the kind words ! I hope you’re liking your build. You can definitely get an hdzero 1s setup going - performance would be very similar to this walksnail build but you will save a couple grams. I do want to say 2s it’s probably the sweet spot for HD builds overall. Thanks Chrys! I really appreciate it man. I definitely should have mentioned this in the video but I am using an Xt30 connector with used and abused 550 LVs from RDQ. I still find myself landing at about 4 MIN each flight and that's usually a semi aggressive flight. Some quality batteries would definitely make a difference. Nice build. I prefer 1S toothpicks for their stealth, but sufficient power for outdoor. Do you have any issues with the props loosening, as you seem not using any prop screws?
@MoeFPV

I love 1s for that very reason! and no issues ever with these KV Motors and press-on props. I just don't think they can produce enough lift to cause any loosening.

That's amazing!! Really shows off the capability. I'm building a 1S 3" with 1303 FPVcycle motors at the moment, should be flying on the weekend. How are the HDZero goggs going for you? Damn Mish! I'm sorry I missed this. I swear youtube doesn't notify me sometimes. I loved this drone so much i built TWO more LOL one with a caddx baby ratel 2 for some higher quality video and one with a regular pinch cam. All on 11500kv motors and two on x12 boards with motor plugs out of laziness. Super capible, fun, safe and quiet drones! You can definitely get away with some slightly beefier motors, too. And the HD zero goggles with rapidfire have been amazing. Some high quality analog DVR comes out of them and youll have the option for hd zero and walksnail with the vrx in the future, should you want to. Did you pick up a set yet? Also miata season is here! 😎

@MoeFPV

I get my parts today and i already have a happymodel diamond f4 AIO with the built in 400mw vtx. Its a built in 5amp esc...do you think thats fine or do i need a capacitor? And if so, what size capacitor...i have a 25-1000uf but i have no clue what that means lmao also....great flight as always!
@MoeFPV
@MoeFPV 9 месяцев назад
Did you end up building it already? I would say a cap would not be required. You can add a cap to the end of the pigtail if you have any electrical issues but i really dont anticipate you will. 5 AMP ESC is also fine for this build especially if we are working with these lower KV motors. I dont have MUCH experience with the diamond though and i think those ESCs are a bit more sensitive than others. I use the x12 for one build and a Flywoo 4-1 for another

This looks like the same cam on bubito-which is fantastic in the evening. I’m trying to get into micro long range with a Medlin gimbal hoping hd or 850mw vtx… is a 3”toothpick the way to go? 2s/3s?
@MoeFPV
@MoeFPV Год назад
sorry i missed this! Absolutely believe that a 3" ultralight toothpick is the way to go for long range since youll get a lot of efficiency due to the power-to-weight. I think 3s will give you the most flight time but be a bit harder to tune. If youre just long range cruising though it shouldnt be too bad. I have a 3s TP3 with 1200mw walksnail inside and i get about 7 min of flight on 660 3s. How far are you looking to go? It could certainly do a few km

@MoeFPV
@MoeFPV 10 месяцев назад
I would run the same props - the Gemfan 3018's. Although, you can probably experiment with some tri blade props, if thats more your thing. I just love the feeling of bi blades and im so used to how the 3018s fly - they are on all my toothpicks lol and nice man! I think youll like the fat pinch - takes a few packs to get used to it but once you do its a wild experience lol let me know how you like it
@prottentogo
@prottentogo 9 месяцев назад
I'm curious: On my 2.5" I use three blade props mainly because they help protecting motors. I see the two blade ones a lot recently on non-ducted quads. Don't you guys bang up motors with that quite a lot? They are no whoop no more weight wise...
@MoeFPV
@MoeFPV 9 месяцев назад
I truly enjoy the flight characteristics of a bi blade on an ultralight - the drifty turn response, the added efficiency, and of course the beautiful SOUND. I have never damaged a motor bell on bi blades as the arms usually will take the hit and the motors shaft are actually more protected using biblades as the prop will spin out of the way of an impact vs locking up. To each their own, though - you can certainly use triblades on this platform
@prottentogo
@prottentogo 9 месяцев назад
I totally get your points (especially their drifty nature). The durability argument not so much yet. Blades are soft and damp the impact the shaft would get otherwise, don't they? But regardless: Nice to hear that you haven't broken one. @@MoeFPV
@MoeFPV
@MoeFPV 9 месяцев назад
@@prottentogo This is how I sorta see it - if we were to impact the ground prop first, a tri blade would get locked between two of the blades upon impact, which means that force is going to be pushed into the motor and the shaft itself. Bi blades will always be pushed horizontally out of the way of the impact, leaving usually the arm or motor guard to take the hit versus the motor shaft. Now granted I never bent a shaft on any of my drones, tri blades or bi blades so this may be more theory than anything else lol I think especially on ultralight micros , there’s not a lot of weight behind the crash to begin with, so we may not have to even worry about this.
@prottentogo
@prottentogo 9 месяцев назад
well, I guess it depends on the angle you're hitting the obstacle with. if it was one where it wouldn't get to the bell/shaft and only the prop is responsible for contact then yes... but I'm not too sure if that's the case that often. maybe if you run big and heavy motor protection on a toothpick, but I don't see people doing that that often. @@MoeFPV
