This car looks gopping. Love the colour. I have read that car manufactures have been told in a proposal to reduce the usage of touch screen, on safety grounds, by 2026. Excellent news
Our lease was up and we went with the X5 M60i due to the reasons you mentioned. It's just better looking and much more practical (especially with two dogs!).
0:38 Comparing an X5 to an X6 is comparing apples to oranges. We have an X6M60i. Its beauty is that it is totally designed and engineered for the driver and maybe one passenger. Not for a family of 4 dropping the kids off at school on the way to Target. You buy an X6 because you want an X6. You don't care if people don't like its looks because it is a perfectly engineered beast.
I like the look of the x6, as for the space and visibility in the back, if you’re buying a X6 you’re not going to worry about anyone sitting in the back

Great review as always Joe. Where’d did exhaust note go though?! The m50i with the n63tu3m3 had a nice loud burble. I agree, the m60i badge is tacky. I removed it from my m50i along with the x5 logo for the sleeper look.
Wish the huge heavy Panoramic Moonroof had a *‘Delete ❌ Option’!* Also the HD Infotainment System should be seamlessly integrated into the cockpit and dashboard!
I don't find anything wrong with the badge! 😅 The first X6 was a nice looking SUV, but the rear of this new one is very difficult to look at (although I have to say it's less bad in real life). The performance is impressive! Very nice review, as always. 😎
4 wheel steer!! My Honda Prelude 2.2vti had this in 1998!! Yes electronic 4WS ,it went opposite way to the front wheels at low speed and same as front at higher speeds . Nothing new there then!!!!! X5 will always be the best option!
@JoeAchilles1 8:59 so how does this suspension - and which one exactly is it, the adaptive M or the adaptive M Pro? - compare to the pneumatic setup you had on the X5 30d?
The capabilities of this X6 are amazing. The appreciation of the look is a personal matter. It definitely is less attractive than an X5. Although, in the right colour, it is not too offensive...
I've never been able to get comfortable with the X6 looks since it was first conceived (always looked arse heavy to me). Conversely, I think the X5 has always been one of the better looking BMW cars.
Right, I'm early so someone will see this and mighthelp answer. The m550i with a non M engine has 520hp So this, with an M Power engine AND an electric motor makes 10hp more 🤔 I know the engine is detuned from the 600hp but still those numbers are not adding up
@joeachilles I hope you can help. I have an BMW X5 M60i on order but I haven’t been able to test it - only drove the 50e with air suspension. First I ordered it with this setup but after reading all the current owners review and advise I changed my order to the adaptive M suspension Pro. Want I want is the X5 to drive as close to a Cayenne in terms of dynamics but I also need the car to be a long distance vehicle with okay comfort. Since you have now tested the 30d with air suspension and this - what would be best set-up for a X5 M60i with all this power ?
The back of the X6 has always looked like a car, squashing another car, accidentally parked on yet another car. It’s SO tall back there, the designers have just never known what to do with all the space.
Dont understand the x4 or x6, just unnecessary versions of the fantastic x3 and x5. Very odd. Maybe its like the main range, where they have become a little over crowded with all the variations of 2 and 4 door cars!

Completely disagree with you Joe on the look and design of the X4 and X6 Coupe SAVs. I’ll take those any day over the tame styling of X3, X5. But I do love ❤🔥 the M3 Touring, wish BMW will bring it to the States 🇺🇸!
Arguably the only BMW with acceptably good looking front end,rest of it is just.... meh. Colour is wonderful though. Interior is awesome too, apart from the very long tablet. What was wrong with the proper normal instrument clusters. And OK put some screen in the middle, but not together. Still can't adjust to this trend. Also for the package, unless you going to the track weekly or something. M-light is just enough. M340i over full fat M3 ( apart from the estate) or M550i over M5 is the wiser choice.
All you reviewers don't get it The X 6 is a man's play toy , and an x5 is a soccer moms car I wouldn't be caught dead in an x5 , I would feel like a beta male I think the x6 is exquisite.
I agree, back end of X6 is horrible, too many creases, ridges (4!) and it looks like a back side of an old brick. Sort of a Pontiac Aztec in BMW format. Rear wheel arch and the metal above it too inadequate compared to wheel size and looks heavy. Supercar price territory, totally not applicable. Why everybody is reviewing the "M-ish" 60i model which would be extremely rare and not the more common 40i version? This is gonna be more rare than GLE 53 AMG Coupe
It doesn’t matter what you say, it’s too expensive, looks like a dogs dinner and why buy an inefficient box on wheels. Get a touring and bin these SUV ffs
Because not everyone wants to have a vehicle that looks like others on the road. With that shape it’s obvious it’s driver focused and maybe one passenger, the front passenger. Practicality wasn’t something in mind when buying this.
Pretty bad review honestly. Personal bias toward the looks X5 overrides any objective anaylsis of this car vs competitors. Mercedes, Audi, Urus or other Coupe SUV. Also says remove the M60i badge? Why?
Why can't you just review the car for what it is rather than what it isn't? Everyone knows you don't like the styling and it has less cargo room than an X5. Geez, get over it. Your reviews are becoming unwatchable
when i was watching all those videos from uk i feel so upset and horrible as a petrol head car enthusiast, the reason is that 120k pounds for this car i extremely cheap, in my silly country we have to apprx. pay 450k pounds for this car because of taxes that is applied by our corrupted government. by the way unfortunately i am living in Turkey, those taxes hurts me too much, i cannot even tolerate to watch those videos.
Clearly marmite,divisive indeed. I think cars like the X5 and Q5 look much more original in hatch not sportback. I certainly wont be joining in the sexism around the X5 being just for school run mums find that appauling
All BMW's are ugly these days. All cute SUV's are ugly and have zero purpose other than to look a bit different, the only thing they actually say about an owner is, here comes an idiot!
