Update from Dr. Judy on the 1st round of test results relating to the suspected pet food issue we have been sharing information on since 1/3/2024. We will share another update as more test results become available. Testing is not a quick process, but we are doing everything we can to get to the bottom of this situation as quickly as possible.

The FDA is a comprised entity and should be disbanded and reformed without ANY funding from major corporations! They allow so many additives and banned in Europe. It is no wonder that so many Americans are overweight, laden with cancer and diabetes etc. if they don’t care about people, they certainly don’t care about our pets!

So vote for people that will provide more funding to the FDA. There are only a handful of people working at the FDA that's working to solve this, so it's not surprising things move slowly. All this means, you should consider voting Blue. If the Reds had it their way, the FDA would have been abolished, along with half a dozen other agencies.

very difficult to find ANY person with a veterinarian certificate (identical to allopathic medicine) worthy of assisting one's pets. If U can find some kind of "integrative" therapist. Someone that is willing to address body, mind soul healing WITH a serious comprehension of nutrition and how to support the animals incredible system...this is RARE . The good news is listening to generous VETS like this one. If your ZERO vet continues the ZERO (but expensive ) care; change up. At least find someone you can relate to...and boy that aint easy. If you love your pet s you'll persevere and nutrition is quite the key.

Thank you, Dr. Judy. I learned about kibble over 10 years ago when we had two dogs die from cancer, and started looking into how pet food was manufactured. At that time I learned about Susan Thixton. I know there is nothing set up at this time for donations, but I think with social media, the serious problem about the poor quality of manufactured pet food finally getting out to the public. I think there is a need for a nonprofit consumer driven foundation to raise funds and help people like you and Susan, who have been fighting this fight alone for many years. There are thousands of us who believe this is a very worthwhile cause and would gladly donate to assist in the effort to get this testing done!

I’m watching my cats and dogs like a Hawk! Following them around to check poops 💩 and pee in the snow. ❄️ I have fed my cats purina wet food for years and since I’m a bit of a Prepper, I have a 6 month supply stored. I’m feeding the cans I purchased a year ago while we wait for the testing to come through. For the dogs - I’m making home made food- the cats do not like my cooking 🥘 😂 😂

THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORK. I APPRECIATE YOU! For those being snarky, why would you even put your fur kid at risk by defending the pet industry when there is evidence of such actions in the past? Become part of the solution by being cautious, patient and supportive until Dr. J can get this sorted out. She is a warrior. I don't see anyone else stepping up to endure the cost or backlash. My fur kids have gone through hell from these products. Accountability and change is good start.

I don’t even feed my dogs. I feed them raw and I’m still full because it’s information to help me make better decisions for my pet health, which is my number one priority always!

Mike Adams, the Health Ranger did a test on the chicken feed when people were complaining there chickens weren't laying to find out if it was the feed. Try contacting him, he is an independent source. I believe he is a food scientist or similar by trade. He has a u tube channel and on Brightion. Thank you Dr. Judy for all your hard work!!! get a food dehydrator , buy some fresh raw chicken , cut up the chicken into 1 inch pieces my Mom feeds her dogs this and they love it no salt, no seasoning , just raw chicken on a dehydrator

All the food (people food and pet food) has been smelling like acetone (fingernail polish remover) since 2020 in my opinion. Now that the words "contains bioengineered food ingredients" and "microbial enzymes" are listed on the food packaging, everything smells weird.

Yes! I’ve noticed this too and thought maybe it was just me wing too sensitive but then health issues starting to get worse when I consume certain foods that aren’t as clean as they say they are…..one of the worst products is milk! Milk smells like it’s got detergents in it!

What foods/brands are you referring too. I believe you and I have a really good sense of smell and want to do some research with my sniffer. I have become very wary of most processed foods so try to eat fresh only. I make a lot of dog food and only buy commercial dog food that is on Susan Thixton's list. I can't be the only person that noticed that second that Amazon bought Whole Foods, the "non-GMO" labeling was gone. This is because the global elite want to prevent the masses from voting with their wallet. They want the masses to eat the toxic stuff so the elite can have the good stuff. Seriously, the whole push to make crickets happen is one of the goals of the World Economic Forum. They are making sure that legislation gets past to allow ground crickets into foods without having to state the ingredient on the label.

That’s how they get away with it, most of us can’t afford testing, and the fact of the conflict of interest doesn’t help. My Service Dog died right before Christmas, after suffering from most of the symptoms. Unfortunately when I would switch her food to try and help her, I switched to other ones on the list. I hope y’all are able to help others who are suffering! May God Be With You and Our Animals!

Raw meat is better than commercial pet food, but it's not ideal. Dogs have been domesticated for thousands of years and have developed alongside us to eat cooked food. As a result, they have lost their protections against ecoli and salmonella, as well as other pathogens. In other words, your dog can get food poisoning from eatung raw meat just like you can. There are no domesticated dogs in the wild and a raw meat diet is not natural for thrm.

My 14 year old cat refuses everything except Fancy Feast Medleys. The vet said he is in purrfect health. My mother had a Siamese cat that lived for 23 years strictly on Tabby Treat Original Banquet canned cat food. That's all the cat would eat.

@@mygirldarby yes, and I would be especially wary of grocery store meats. You don’t know if it’s from here in the states, or shipped from China and a lot of meat is. I read an article (well, a couple ) and they stated the raw meat that is used in quality raw dog food is of higher quality than what you get in the stores - the dogs can eat it raw, BUT there is more bacteria in grocery store meats (that’s why it’s so important we cook our meat). Unless you buy from local ranchers who grass feed their beef, you better make sure you cook that meat well.). Anyway, that’s my 2 cents on raw. I do want to feed raw, but we buy our hamburger from Wild Pastures (grassfed, no shots) and it’s, gosh about $11-12 per pound. So I get freeze dried raw from a couple of different sites (not ones that have been sold to major corporations).

We almost lost my yorkie last week. Severe vomiting and horrible bloody diarrhea. 1000.00 later he has turned it around🎉. He didn’t want to eat his kibble for three days. It was a new bag. I thought he was just being a yorkie. I have gone back to homemade food. My last yorkie thrived on homemade food with the correct supplements until he was 15. I’m never going back to kibble. My beautiful Cocker Spaniel, Bella, was diagnosed with Cushings Disease and is very arthritic. After joining Saving Pets One Pet @ A Time and watching the movie Pet Fooled The Shocking Truth Behind The Pet Food Industry, and these videos, I threw out the kibble we had left (Kibbles and Bits). I started to feed Bella Fresh Pet because the ingredients read to be healthy. I am also now make her chicken with mixed vegetables and this will now be her meals. I feel extremely guilty that feeding her the foods she was eating, most times Purina products, that I may have contributed to her being sick. Thank you so much for continuing research to help put an end to our pets suffering.

I stopped Fresh Pet because of the controversial ingredient carrageenan, I didn’t know about the mold but it smelt like crap, so I just started buying organic grass fed 90% ground beef and added veggies, blueberries, ground flax and anything else healthy I had on hand.

@@joanies6778because pet food is made from a combination of road kill, euthanized pets & animals and discarded grocer meats, often cooked still in styrofoam/plastic packaging. The euthanized pets & animals are where the pb is coming from, but it's all concerning.

We are so GRATEFUL for EVERYTHING that you are doing to try to figure out what is going on with ALL of our Pets. No One has ever stood up to these Companies to get them to be accountable for the crap that they are putting into the food. There needs to be control over all of the ingredients restrictions for God Sakes come on America we can do better we must do better! Pet Parents need to demand that from these Dog Food Manufacturers. Last year there was a train disaster in East Palestine Ohio. The crops were contaminated as well as the soil and water. I did a check to see if Diamond Naturals purchased any ingredients or manufactured in this area. I feel with all of the other disasters happening that contaminate soil and water we possibly have an answer to what is poisoning our pets. U know they put all road kill, field death cows, pets from vet clinics that were put down, and whatever else they can source to put into the pet foods….they do no testing on the animals that get thrown into the mix….the whole animal goes into it too….there’s no processing or testing or quality assurance process….they just grind up all the animals and make it into pet food….the brands simply buy the labels on the products and don’t actually produce the feed they sell….that’s usually done by a partnered company so they can keep it a secret monopoly legally …..

I lost my German Shepherd this past year at the age of 3. No one could tell me what was wrong. After being sick for quite a long time she passed. They told me it was probably cancer. I disagreed. I will never know but am so grateful you are trying to find causes for all these pets. I know feed home made food for all my fer babies. Thank you for all you are doing.

My baby boy is my reason for staying alive. I LOVE him so much. He means everything to me. Keep that in mind for every negative message or comment you get. You're doing it for little critters like my 3lb baby boy chihuahua that I hand tube fed since he was 3 weeks old and had pneumonia/fading puppy syndrome. He just turned three 3 days ago! We are inseperable.

Informative, rational video. When one of my cats got sick a year ago, I switched them to mostly homemade food. The last few weeks have dispelled any doubts I may have had about doing it. If this were about peanut butter or breakfast cereal, would people keep feeding it to their kids until they saw "proof?"

Thank you, Dr. Judy. I've followed you for about a year now. You helped me absolutely decide to feed my dog homemade, organic food! I had a veterinarian tell me that I would be endangering his life. Ha! I switched to a holistic veterinarian in Roanoke VA. Pet Wellness Center.

I kind of understand why you did this first round of testing on random batches, but I think the next round on the actual food that these dogs were eating will be much much more beneficial Should learn a lot more from those even if everything comes out negative. I think the emphasis needs to be on the known food that these animals were eating instead of just randomly picking some stuff off the shelf.

TESTING SUGGESTION: PESTICIDES and HERBICIDES can cause seizures in addition to nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, etc. GMO foods can be high in both. GMO foods are modified so they can be sprayed with pesticides and herbicides without damage to the plant (corn, grains, soy, etc.). Are they using GMO foods in pet food? I'm sure they are.

Thank you so much for all you do for pet safety. I have a wonderful 12 week old Havanese pup. She’s the light of my life and her nutrition is so important to me. I’m able to buy quality food for her but the economy is a wreck and more and more people are forced to feed cheaper dog food to their wonderful animals. We all want safe and quality foods for our animals and you are helping so much. The people who are sending hate mail just don’t understand your passion for keeping our animals safe.

I just recently found out about this issue. My Parsons Terrier had bloody diarrhea and had to put him down because he was so sick on Feb 7 2024. He was 18 and was doing pretty good considering his age. I was feeding him S&C freeze dried Pattie’s at the time. I’m thankful my old friend was with me for this long but finding out now that it was likely the food breaks my heart. So sorry old buddy, R.I.P

My 2 shepherds were getting diarrhea and vomiting. Diamond Naturals Lamb & Rice Large Breed. We were at the bottom of the bag so we were not sure what they were getting into. I stopped all food and treats for a week and fed them chicken breast and white rice. They both stopped being sick and we gave them their dog food again and they started again. We didn’t think it was the food, because we had already fed them 3/4 of a 40lb bag, but after the second round of illness, we went back to cooking them chicken & rice and when they were normal again we opened a new bag and threw out the remainder of that old bag. They are doing fine on this bag, but I have started researching raw and human grade. (Farmers dog, we feed raw, Ollie, pets table etc). Thank you for taking the time and the financial responsibility to do this testing. I did not even know others were having issues until I seen this video. Much appreciated!!! ❤❤❤❤

I wish I heard about this before giving my pup a Purina product. I feel like this is all my fault. He’s severely ill and I’m afraid he won’t make it through. All because I didn’t order his other brand fast enough and I needed an emergency meal because the shipping was delayed. I can’t believe this company is still up and running

Commercial pet food is so toxic to our fur babies. Unfortunately I figured that out too late. So we lost our poochieface when he was 12. But if he was never fed that canned crap he'd have probably made it to 18 or 20. Smh

I bought the cat food and same thing happened! I have three cats and NONE of them would touch it! Even My cat that eats anything refused to eat it, I knew something was wrong about it. I took it back!

4 Health is a better quality dog food than most on the market. My dog eats half 4 Health and half homemade. I can't afford to feed my dog all homemade. She is a very healthy, energetic pittie mix with a beautiful coat and great digestive tract. It is Tractor Supply's store brand made in Tennessee.

In college late 80's I did research on grains in NE where I tested from fields to storage silos. The mouse poison and mold deterrent chemicals are sprayed in as grains are loaded, the bottom 1/3 of silos contents are sent to Purina. Purina threatened to sue my university if my research was published. There's your answer for Purina Pet Foods

Thank you for what you are doing. As a cat sanctuary owner, when I heard this I immediately changed my cats' diet. But I worry for all the rescues and shelters I work with because they really have no choice but to feed the dogs and cats the food that they receive as donations. And donations are primarily Purina. So far I have not heard any news of any pets getting sick or dying, and we are located in a small town in Canada, so hopefully the lot numbers on the pet food here are not affected. It is an uphill battle for us, because pet food is now so expensive and cooking for many dogs and cats is not an easy feat. I will be anxiously awaiting the next round of test results.

I wish all governmental agencies would be as honest and open as you are being. We need an honest 3rd party to not only review dog food and meds but also for humans. My dog was impacted by melamine in 2007. I was lucky to have a Vet gave my friend an I IV bags to help our dogs with their kidney issues. It saved our dogs lives.

Thank you for the update and for sharing what you've been doing on behalf of our fur babies! Because batches/lots are likely different in different areas, it seems that testing from the bags that actually made pets sick or die would make the most sense. I just hope the culpret making pets ill will be discovered very quickly! I was inquiring at my local doggie day care whom also has a food/supply center, and they have not heard of any incidents of illness from pet food here in my town. We also have not seen the mysterious dog virus show up yet, either, thank God. When I got my foster 2.5 months ago, I fed him Purina Adult Complete because that's what he had been eating at the shelter. He had dandruff and wasn't eating the amount I was told to feed him, skipping meals, and displaying resource guarding. I had to add chicken broth/gizzards or canned dog food made into gravy to his kibble for him to eat at all. I checked in with the shelter manager, and he said that it was the same behavior they witnessed. So, it was not from a new bag of kibble. However, I followed my gut instincts and transitioned him to a different brand of kibble made with salmon. His coat looks awesome, but he still had some itchy skin/ dandruff. I started giving him 1/4 cup raw goat milk with his morning salmon kibble and made your pup loaf recipe for his dinner. He scarfs up his food and even licks the bowl, now, with ZERO resource guarding! Itchiness has lessened, but it's early. Diet is everything!

The second paragraph of your post is very important. The fact that an entire batch of food is not causing a problem with multiple dogs, indicates that it's not the food. Especially not when it's a variety of different brands that are produced in completely different places across the USA. One of the local retail stores near us had a bunch of food returned by multiple people because there was mold in the food. It wasn't the manufacturer, it wasn't just one brand, it's because we've had an extremely wet summer that continued through the fall. Mold happens. It was more likely a transportation and storage issue. Toxic mold can kill in food

I've already taken my dog OFF of ALL commercial pet food, be it 'dry' or 'wet'. His eyes are clearer /cleaner (no more 'discoloured' discharge), he doesn't vomit up bile a couple of times a week, at least, and I'm waiting to see if his occasional seizures stop. IF they do, I am completely sold on 'home made food' for him, and will never look back, and give my dog 'commercial pet food' that was likely causing these problems, to begin with ! :)

Thanks for the heart, Dr. Judy. I feel SO guilty. He seemed to 'go off his kibble' some time ago. I thought he was becoming a 'fussy eater'... So, like many I guess, I started adding 'nice meat and veggies to it' to encourage him to eat it ! Like I said, I feel SO guilty I waited so long to do the complete switch over. Now ? He really enjoys his meal, and cleans his plate - and, like I mentioned, his 'maybe bad food' symptoms are disappearing. :) I LOVE your channel, and share links to it - keep up your excellent work for us, and our fur babies, out here ! :)

My Lhasa was having seizures about 2-3 times a week. He was 4 years old and I was feeding a very expensive name brand food. Started making his food and the seizures stopped completely and he lived to be 19 years old. There is hope

Even if a homemade diet doesn't completely stop the seizures, it definitely helps keep your pet healthier than any commercial foods ever could! Just a quick fyi, but vaccines can also trigger/cause seizures (I know you already addressed over vaccination in your comment, but I just wanted to mention this). Also, I just wanted to share that in some instances CBD oil can really help reduce or eliminate seizures in dogs. My lab was having seizures as a result of an autoimmune disease and we started him on a full spectrum hemp oil (with no THC) and his seizures stopped completely. He was on a low-carb homemade diet full of high-quality pastured meats and high-antioxidant foods like blueberries, cranberries and dark leafy greens. Despite a few degenerative diseases he struggled with in his last few years (which I believe were caused by vaccines), he lived in perfect health for almost all of his 15 years, and I believe diet played a HUGE role in his overall health and longevity. Please don't give up on a fresh homemade diet- you may have to make a few tweaks or add in some natural herbal supplements along the way, but a good diet is SO very powerful! ❤👏💪👍

i fed my group of standard poodles costco salmon sweet potato kibble but im in rural area not close to costco. ironically i just purchased a bag of purina lamb and rice kibble when i found dr judy. they did have diarrhea blood vomit i switched to diamond lamb meal rice they wont eat either. but mornings its freshpet or rice veg poultry bone broth sardine they do fine. no more purina or diamond but i think costco salmon sweet potato is good for one of their two meals

Dr. Judy, how come you’re not trying to crowdfund or set up a way that people can send donations to help you to cover the associated costs of figuring out the mystery? With all the followers you have (and by spreading word to other concerned vets like Dr. Andrew Jones, whom I’m sure would also happily spread word), I’m sure you can raise $10,000-$15,000 in a flash to cover the costs of testing and other associated costs (ie: purchasing food, shipping food samples to the Labs, etc.). You’d just need to post a link to a place where people can donate money online. If even a fraction of your followers chip in $1-$5, you’ll raise the funds kicker split. This giant amount of money shouldn’t be coming out of your pocket alone - this is thousands of dollars we’re talking about here, not even hundreds (which would still be a lot!). You shouldn’t have to be the one solely footing the bill. Please set up a way for people to send money. I know you’re concerned with people thinking you’re benefitting, but that’s easily rectified by simply showing the bills/receipts with the amounts that you’re spending. If they is any leftover money, you can either donate it to cause like Susan Thixton’s or keep it on hold in a separate account in case most costs arise . . . or for future widespread emergencies that may affect a major number of our animals and requires investigation (because we all know it’s not if that will happen but when), whether with pet food or anything else. Thanks for your dedication to finding answers - and for taking flack from people who clearly have no regard for their animals if they’re posting negative feedback or not being reasonable with their expectations of this process.

What are the Brands tested in the first round? I know their is a problem with pet foods off and on but why is none thinking it could be vaccines or pet products like flea and tick or heartworm meds, has anyone asked those who;s animals got sick if they are using those? I know animals can get side effects from rabies for up to 45 days after the shot for example. The other thing is some people might assume its the food because they are seeing all of this online, my point is if your pet is sick get it checked out at the vet and do not just assume it is the food, your pet might have something else going on. I am grateful that this is being looked into but at the same time people still need to see their vet.
