@@playitagainsue thank you. in the germen speaking countries like Germany, Austria, Switzerland it made it into the top 10 early last year. also it was on iTunes download single charts in south africa, and Denmark. the English countries missed it more out.
@@playitagainsue like STEREOACT announced on Tiktok , Jennifer Rush herself worked togther with them and created the new sound. I find it close to the original from 84 . some parts are better, more modern and all ages love it.

It was Jennifer rush who wrote that song. She first sang that song in a tv talent show opportunity knoxx and she won the whole talent show with that she is the original of that song and for for me Jennifer rush is the best at that song
This also reached Number 1 in Australia. I remember this very well, in fact I bought the single for my parents for their wedding anniversary that year. It is a beautiful song indeed.

its nice to see people appreciate jennifer rush... this woman was and is the definition of "pure class" in every possible way. I remember her from interviews in the 80s as a kid growing up..the most charming, kind-hearted, and humble soul you could ever meet. all of my friends including me had such a crush on her. also her outfits were so awesome. she had that 80s gritty, leatherly biker bad-girl style with the metal studs going on, yet at the same time classy and elegant without being overly sexualized or suggestive like so many others were. and then of course that unbelievable voice to round it up. Jen, wherever you are, I hope you are happy, healthy, and doing well...thanks for all the memories.

Jennifer was an absolute superstar in the 80s and 90s in Germany, Spain, the Scandinavian countries, Greece, South Africa, Australia, and South America. Actually all over the world except North America. She had a lot of hits. Her albums reached platinum status and Number one of the album charts. During this time, she sold more in Germany alone than Madonna and Prince combined. The first three albums sold over 1 million, over 1.5 million and over 1 million copies - the others were also platinum albums. She had great touching power ballads but also great uptempo songs. There are so many great songs to react to, but first I recommend "If you're ever gonna lose my love", "I come undone", "Heart over mind" or also "Ring of Ice", "Destiny", "25 Lovers" "Wings of Desire" or the insider tip "Hero of a Fool". You won't regret it and you're sure to have fun.

It always strikes me as so weird how an artist can be so huge in a certain part of the world and nothing in other areas. So many songs have stuck around for me to learn and appreciate as I got older and you are right, I loved this. She is amazing 🤩❤️

I remember it being played a lot on the radio but not much on the telly which is good, imho, because the video is rubbish. This song is heard best when you’re driving the car or in a dark room late night - her voice will blow you away 🥰

Jennifer Rush was big in Germany. Her most successful song here was 'Destiny'. But I love 'I Come Undone' even more. 'Ring Of Ice' is a good one too and also her duet with Elton John called 'Flames Of Paradise'.
Jennifer Rush is a super talent. She has the high Range of an Operatic Soprano & the low range of a Contralto. She did a of Musical Theatre, which was actually unusual at the time for a Black Female singer. I'm in Australia & I adore her. This was a top ten hit in Australia. Of all the versions done by about 10 other women that I know, this is the best.
she's more of a mezzo-soprano than a soprano but what does it matter. her approach to pop using operatic vocalism was unique for the time, if you listen to dion, branigan, madonna, etc they sound nothing like this. jen's voice just melts them all. she was the best singer of the 80s bar none.
This is THE version for me, Sue ! .. Her voice and interpretation is just perfect, and makes me feel the song much more than all the other versions that followed .. It was Number 1 here in Australia, as was also the case for Celine Dion's version .. But when I first heard this on the radio on its release, I actually dismissed it as just a slow, boring, slightly operatic sounding ballad .. How wrong could I have been ??? .. I came back to it many years later, and gave it another go, and I was super impressed .. Her voice is phenomenal ! .. But I must admit, seeing her on the video certainly added to my liking of it 😉 .. She is a stunningly beautiful woman, and combined with her singing, it was a winning combination .. I watched a number of her other most viewed songs, and although her voice was always great ( and she looked amazing ), the quality of the songs themselves were not in the same league as this one, IMHO .. "Wings of Desire" was probably my favourite of those others.
Hi Wayne, oh my gosh, yes! Jennifer is wonderful. Her voice is outstanding. I wish I knew her version back in the day....years of not knowing her version just seems wrong haha. Yes she is a beauty. @playitagainsue I believe that this was Jennifer's only big hit worldwide .. Think she had some smaller ones in various countries, but nothing on this scale ..With her voice I reckon she would have had some more major hits if she had been able to either find or write the right songs .. But all the others of hers that I checked out were just OK without being anything particularly special, so unfortunately it looks like that didn't happen.
Yes this is THE Version for me as well, huge hit back then, often played as last song at school dances, and sometimes I got a dance with the cute girl in my class 😊
Absolutely Jennifer owns this song. Laura Branigan owns this song as well. Always loved Celine’s version but it doesn’t quite hold up to the other two singers!

it was only USA and France that it really didn't make the top 10 all over the rest of the world, (also Canada no 1) it was either No 1 or in the top 10. both northern and southern hemisphere. i only think of this version when i think of the song.
Hi Sue, this version of the song is my favourite, even though I love Celine Dion. This lady came from nowhere in the UK & is a real one hit wonder.bJennifer's voice is magnificent on this & it was a wonder that she didn't go onto being a world wide star. Maybe she just didn't have access to the right material.

@ianlove1215 yes all 3 artists all had hits with songs of exactly the same names “Power of Love” but they were all completely different and amazing songs in their own right. You’ve reminded me of some wonderful music, thank you!
Jennifer (stage name) had such a Good voice! She was hugely popular in South Africa with this no 1 hit, had her cassette on replay in the car as a kid. Such a shame she later had plastic surgery done to her face, completely unnecessary :( Also react to Ring of Ice from the same album, she's got pipes!
