Following a disappointing and avoidable loss against Bank of England last week, Sanderstead 1st XI entertained the triple whammy of Chipstead, Coulsdon and Walcountians at home. You will see for yourself how the game went, but give that it was all over by 2.45 it is a bit annoying not to get the game uploaded until after 11pm!! Got there in the end though, despite crap wifi (this isn't easy you know!)- enjoy....

Rather shows the gulf between div 1 and div2 really. Their decent keeper standing up to the opener made a big diff with all the batters reaching for the ball being fearful of dragging their back foot out , hense all the wickets caught at slip.

Good to see Shareff batting 4, definitely more suited to 4 rather than opening. Also good to see him dig in a bit, there were too many times last year when he threw his wicket away in the first 10 overs.

Its an old fashioned trait now, but alot of Bowlers used to use the angled run up. The theory is that it should get the Bowler in closer to the stumps thus making it easier to bowl stump to stump ie; Straight. Some Bowlers also used this approach to make a conscious effort to to get a nice side on coil and force the front foot to land straight on to the pitch and prevent leg side slide. I cant speak for Tricky as to his reasons for doing it but I used the method for a while, back in the day, to try and prevent pushing deliveries down the leg side.

So good to watch some first team cricket at sanderstead :) Just in case you forgot, its Chris here using girlfriends account lol, we had our first win of the season yesterday, bowled out Swindon for 153, knocked them off with 1 wicket down (myself lol) I did score 75 though, plus 2 catches and 1 stumping so not a bad game :)

Their bowling was just too good especially the tall medium pacer, he bowled very straight, nothing wide at all . You put the commentators curse on Shareef saying he was quite watchful and good old Roger helping the club out and sliding around the outfield. T is quite tidy behind the stumps

1. I'm a Yank. (and therefore play baseball) 2. I have no idea why this popped up in my feed. 3. I am slightly fascinated and mostly confused. 4. Why don't more people dive for the ball when it's going out? 5. I'm sure this has rules, but I'll be honest, there's a part of me that doesn't want to spoil it with rules. 🤣 6. If someone could please point me in the right direction for a tutorial, that would be appreciated as I've recently had elbow surgery and have some spare time. 7. If any of you are ever in the USA, it will be my reciprocity and joy to go to an MLB baseball game with you and the first round's on me. 8. That assumes that the world gets over this idiocy and realizes that tyranny just won't end well for those that would seek to institute it over others.
