The Cartune Company (2003) Ltd in New Zealand does 1uz and 3uz conversions / parts and wiring. We have been working on UZ Toyota V8 engines since 2004 when we did our own Hiace van to transport dirtbikes around NZ. Since then we have swapped to doing mainly just Lexus V8 work from a family owned farm hidden away in our paradise , surrounded by the NZ native bush. We sell parts and simple to follow wiring instructions for the 1uzfe engines. For enquiries email info@thecartunecompany.co.nz Take Care. Kelvin

Should it be wired like that for a 3ur

Hi, im using a haltech 1500 ecu with 4 injection drivers on a rover v8. is there any reason why i cant use the injection pattern as follows: inj #1: 1-8, inj #2: 4-3, inj #3: 6-5, inj #4: 7-2

While it would still run the pairing you have suggested goes against what is discussed in the video of getting the port timing of each injectors as close as possible. In fact the pairing is about a far from the ideal injector timing as it could possibly be, therefore I would not use the grouping you have suggested. Cheers Kelvin

@@CartuneNZ i spoke with haltech and they confirmed that the only way to connect up the injectors is inj #1: 1-6, inj #2: 8-5, inj #3: 4-7, inj #4: 3-2. apparently it cannot be hooked up as per the 1uz-fe or any other way. im not sure why this is as the injector drivers will fire what ever injectors are paired together. any reason that you may know of? can you explain what you mean by port timing?

if i was to use the 1uz-fe setup would i need to change the firing order to 1,8,3,4,7,2,5,6? in the haltech instructions it states "When wiring for sequential fuel injection, fuel injectors should be wired with inj1 output to cylinder 1, inj2 output to cylinder 2 and so on. The injectors firing sequence will be set in the software via the firing order found on the advanced tab of the main setup page. If semi-sequential injection mode is used the injection sequence will always be Inj1, inj2, inj3 inj4 etc, regardless of the firing order set in the software.

Hi Calvin, Im Gabriel from Costa Rica, i cant get my engine running with EcuMaster classic, i wired the injectors and coil as you show in this video. i have timing at 10degr(i check it with a timing light ), and all coils(CoP) and injectors are working, do you know what other thing should i check? Regards!

Hello Gabriel. Have you gone over all the input signals? Have you added fuel externally via the intake??

Hi Calvin. This is Russell from South Africa. I have been watching your RU-vid about the installation of the LEXUS motors, and problems experienced. I have recently had this conversion done, (including change from manual to automatic transmission), to my NISSAN HARDBODY 2001 model, The problems I am now experiencing are: OVERHEATING - There is a twin blower fan in front of the air-conditioning radiator, which is mounted in front of the water radiator. How can I solve the overheating problem? This overheating occurs driving around town, not on the open highway. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - The car seems to "jerk" after a while when stopped at traffic lights/robots or stop street. This does not happen when in "Park", only in "Drive". VEHICLE SPEED - The vehicle speed appears to be "governed" to a speed of 130km/hour. I've been informed that the motors imported from Japan are "governed". How can I override this? :- I hope you can help me to resolve these problems, as the garage that did the conversion do not seem to be able to do so. Thank you for your RU-vid channel, it has helped me a lot and I watch it often. Best Regards, Russell

Hello Russel. Sounds like you need better fans for slow speed overheating. I would confirm trans has correct oil and ecu has the stop switch input for jerking and removal of the speed cut is easy with a device I sell. Cheers Kelvin

The point about the help file cannot be made clear enough - this help resource is fantastic, and available through the link software even before an ECU is connected - perfect for during the planing stage.

I agree. I try to include using help file in as many videos as I can. Planning is such an important part of wiring the ecu as well. Any other topics you might suggest? Cheers Kelvin

@@CartuneNZ The video on igniters was fantastic - highlighting equivilant parts that can be used on engines with aftermarket ECU's. I suspect for things like the Idle Solenoid, and some other bolt on parts it's the same deal - there's an NZ EFI part that works in NZ (and we are spoilt with bits for the 1UZ in NZ) - there's a BMW equivilant that looks like it could be made to work if you couldn't order the NZEFI one. The other videos that have been really valuable are ones on what you can strip off the engine, for use in other applications. More along these lines, and back to basics videos would be good (ie, fuel supply considerations, cooling considerations, radiator bleeding considerations). In saying that - there's a wealth of videos you've already made, that's a fantastic asset to the community - time to crack open a thought canister and watch some more.
