In this second tutorial in the series we look at how to add additional military placements for our commanders, the amazing CQB module, and finally giving our commanders access to reinforcements through the Military Logistics module
Thank you so much for this video. While I still am learning. I have a real want to create a "campaign" that is US forces (using C.U.P.) against an Insurgent force (I hope to use CLAfgan as the map). I have watched other tutorials and read forums on "how to" but the problem I find is that they are often outdated. If you ever are taking requests, this would be a great idea lol Thank you again!
Hi thanks love the tips. I have a question. I like a single player arma life mission on the steam workshop. Although I would like to change the faction. He has it listed as Afghan army I would like to change it to NATO or USA . How would I go about changing that?
when you placed down the blufor fighting opfor when this is played in MP do you have to place more men of different classes so people can join i.e rifleman, sniper and so on.
Yes, you need to place down more individual units and make sure that they are marked as playable. You may also want to look at the multiplayer options menu to setup the settings for respawns and the medical system.
Sorry if my question seems obvious. I'm new to ALIVE. Is it possible to set the military commander as AI and then you play as a fire team leader that is given objectives by the AI commander? I ask this because I prefer to play Arma as a soldier in the fight rather than the commander telling all the units what to do. Your videos are awesome by the way! Excellent guides for noobs like me. lol
The military commander will always be an AI. If you want to receive task from them you need to a) be in the same faction e.g. BLUFOR and b) place down the C2ISTAR module. In this module you can set it up so that the AI commander will give you tasks based upon his current objectives. See ALIVE wiki for more info on C2iSTAR module - alivemod.com/wiki/index.php/Command_%26_Control
Thanks for the quick response and sorry, I was referring to the Military placement (civ. obj.). Will a (CSAT) AI commander not attack a (NATO) Military placement (civ. obj.) if he is not synced with it?
Ah I see. Sorry for misunderstanding. The beauty of ALIVE is that you can do it however you want. If you wanted the BLUFOR military commander to attack the civ placement then sure just go ahead and sync that module to the placement. Should work fine.
You have spawn points literally attacking each other, which isn't mission viable. You need to create zones between them. Give the HQs actual objectives. How do you cqb a spawn point when enemies are spawning ontop of you?
You need to make sure that the game master module is down in your mission and linked up correctly (lots of videos on RU-vid with detailed instructions). Then you should be able to press your zeus key in mission and have access to it (place units/assets etc).
