2 Biceps Tendonitis Exercises

Today's video covers exercises for biceps tendonitis and other tendon injuries that occurs in the elbow region where the biceps muscle attaches. The biceps brachii muscle runs along the front of the arm and travels from the shoulder to elbow. At the elbow, the biceps brachii acts to bend (flex) the elbow and supinate the forearm.
Tendonitis and tendon tears can occur at the distal end of the biceps muscle where it attaches on the radial tuberosity. The exercises in this video can help you reduce pain and improve tendon strength.

You can return to any exercises that don’t flare the tendon up. Bench-press and dips can make biceps tendon pain worse, so you have to be careful with them.

I jumped back into heavy presses before the bicep tendonitis healed. Trust me, it will flare up. As mine were serious, i just stopped pressing for 3 months

I have tendonitis in both of my (proximal) bicep tendom connection of the shorthead. Half a year ago i had it on the long head on the left. That is 100% healed. But the Short heads are still painfull what is thee best rehab?

Do you recccomend any easy to obtain supements? Two of them that I know that can help are Creatine, and collagen powder with hyaluronic acid. If bpc 157 was easily available I'd buy the heck out of it but it's hard to know which site is reputable and whatnot. Do you know of any other anti inflammatory dietary oral supplements that you can get otc besides the ones I listed above? Thanks!

Tendon recovery time can vary quite a bit depending on how irritated the tendon is, but most people recover in 2-4 months if other aggravating activities are modified or eliminated. Some tendon issues can last up to 6-8 months if they continue to be aggravated by other activities you participate in.

I tried doing the isometric one and my bicep kept cramping even with just a light weight. Any thoughts on why and how I could avoid this?. This happens super often. A lot of times I'm just holding something in one arm while I unlock the door.

It's hard to say for sure as cramping can be due to a number of different reasons. If it only occurs in your biceps muscles and not elsewhere in your body, it could be due to an issue that is affecting the nerve that supplies the biceps muscle. The branches for this nerve (C6) begin in your neck, so it might be worth seeing an orthopedic physical therapist or orthopedic doctor to examine your neck and make sure there isn't something like a disc herniation going on there.

It may not be biceps tendonitis as that is usually hurts with loaded supination. However, tendonitis can be aggravated by positions that put the tendon on stretch as well. A pronated forearm position would put the biceps brachii muscle-tendon unit on length, so it could trigger symptoms associated with a biceps tendinopathy. It's hard for me to say without evaluating you. It would probably be wise to also incorporate exercises that target your pronators and the medial elbow tendons. Are these exercises should be on stages, or could they be done in the same stage of rehab ?

The video explains the progression. Start with isometrics when symptoms are more acute and then transition to eccentrics and full range of motion movements as symptoms dissipate.

Can I go back to playing badminton after two weeks of rest and doing these exercises? I've got a minor distal bicep tendonitis strain, and it hurts a lot when I play badminton. Normally, the pain is around 3 or 4, and after a week of rest, the pain and swelling go away. But when I start playing badminton again, it hurts a lot after a couple of days.

There is no way to fix this in 2 week. It could take 6 months to several years. If you keep aggravating it constantly it may cause a tear which is needs a surgery. Be careful

@@barsbaksi5861 years??? It isn't that bad, I have been resting for 3 weeks now and there is no pain at all now but I do plan to rest for 8 weeks minimum.

Yes, as long as your baseline doesn't flare up. In that case, you may need to move to every other day.

You likely need to modify the exercise (less weight) or add other exercises that target the other elbow muscles.
