Good luck Iclal with the exams. Regarding the C1 exam, you got it girl!! I am preparing for taking C1 in French. Hoping to taking it between December - January. I am using your technique of studying vocabulary and grammar through context. I am writing sentences and underlining grammar structures and vocab. And it is really helping me. I show this technique to my french teacher and she was impressed, she just loved it. A huge thank you! Can´t wait for your video on note taking from readings. Also would like to see a video of note taking from videos or audio sources. Best wishes in everything you are doing. Hugs from Peru
I am so happy you chose the way of language journey in your life. 🙏🏼👏🏼🌟 The longest, and broadest way on a person but the most satisfactory. In the way. You realise the gaps, stretches, and breachs each has, and moves forward to fill those needs. I hope you are doing well, and I wish you are having a good time. Içlal. 🙏🏼👏🏼🎊🎉🌟🌷🌚🌞
I don't know if you are going to see this but thank you Iclal for being such an inspiration💓 I have always dreamed of being a polyglot and I started my language learning journey at 13 years old with English, and now I am learning French as my fourth language after Arabic, English and Spanish. Thank you for showing me what one can do with consistency and determnation. Everytime I feel desillusioned with my progress I watch your videos and all the other amazing polyglot youtubers. I hope you keep up the good work💕 and don't forget to take care of yourself!
Iclal, let me start by saying I think you are an AMAZING person! Multi-tasking is much talked about as a norm in today's modern lifestyle but it's not realistically achievable if you are looking to excel in anything. It's just not possible to reach a very high level in numerous subjects. Something will give. If you want to smash your university studies, you will have to put your language studies on the back-burner while you focus on your degree. Trust me there is no other way. You are already facing a lot challenges studying a degree in a foreign country in a foreign language and living alone & having to take care of yourself at such a young age. That takes time to adjust and manage. People underestimate the time and energy taken to do things your parents did for you at home..cooking, laundry, cleaning your room, etc. You have already reached a high standard in most of your languages and you will not forget them or drop your standard that much. Even if you lose some traction in them while you are focussing on your uni stuff, you will be able to get back to your current standard within a very short time. You can still read and listen to podcasts for leisure in the languages every now and the but you may have to seriously consider deferring exams in them as that is time consuming and energy sapping. I studied languages in the past to a high level while doing my law degree but I almost failed my first year and then completely stop studying them to focus on my degree. My marks went up dramatically & ended up doing very well. I did not go back to my languages for few years after I graduated because of life (work, got married, etc) got in the way, But you know what? When I went back after 5 years, I recovered my standard after only a few weeks of reading & listening to it online. So I totally understand where you are at. My "advice" would be just FOCUS on your uni studies for now. Others may disagree. But based on my personal experience and having tutored students at university in the past, I have seen all kinds of students. You (and your parents financially) have made a huge sacrifices to be in Milan for a purpose (which is not to study German or Russian to C2 level). Don't put too pressure on yourself by studying things not related to your degree. I'm not sure whether languages are part of it. But focus on theuni this 2nd year. You need to get into a routine and things will fall into place. You will propel once you prioritize the uni work. With any free time, enjoy the city, travel & meet people from uni (other departments) and the city. Uni days should be the best days of your life. Enjoy life! You are young only once. Languages are an integral part of you so they will always be there. Trust me. Believe in yourself! Put first things first and you will never look back. You can smash your degree studies. I know because you have the art of dedication and discipline at such a young age. Time management can be learnt but if you put too much on your plate, it will seem like an endless task & you will spiral downwards. Good luck! You can do it!! Don't worry about what others are doing. Focus on YOU.
thank you for taking the time to write this thoughtful message. i do want to share though that i’m not really a fan of unsolicited advice, especially when it touches on something as central as language learning. if someone had advised me five years ago to focus exclusively on my studies, and if i had taken that advice, you wouldn't be watching my videos today. as for academics, i fully understand the challenges of studying in a foreign language while managing other priorities. the effort i put into my language exams is a one-time commitment; once passed, these certifications are permanent. and i’ve already completed 3 c1/c2 exams this year, which is pretty much the best contribution one can make to themselves as a university student. having managed to balance these so far, i’m confident that both my degree and my language learning can continue to coexist
Hi İclal! Loveddd your vlog!! I'm applying for international relations and politics in Italy! And was so happy to find out that one of my favourite bloggers is studying politics too:) Would you mind telling me how is it to study politics in italy please? Thank you and sending muchhh love from Kazakhstan!🤍
2:37 it's so interesting to me that you said "resit" instead of "retake" because "resit" is only really used in British English. Do you prefer British English over American English? No judgement simply curious
had no idea 😅 in dutch you can use the verb to sit in context of going to school (ik zit op school). i found this pretty weird then got told that in english you can sit exams, which i later added to my vocab
@@iclaliano ohhhhh that's really interesting because it's such a British way to say "I had to retake my exams" that I thought for sure you studied UK English. Interesting for sure
In Europe, we learn British English. Also, British English is more similar to other varieties of English in the world (such as Australian, Irish, Canadian, South African etc.). So American English is kind of the odd one out. But yeah, in Europe we prefer 🇬🇧
Fortunately, there is now Chatgpt and DeepL based on it... 😊Essay work should not be so difficult anymore...I think it has increased our productivity a lot.
From Egypt, i really love u, and i hope that you will help me I study turkish at the faculty of translation, and I tried a lot to learn Spanish at the same time, but I always failed to stay disciplined Any tips ?
I am an Algerian medical student and I have learned many languages. I speak seven languages, including Russian, German and Italian at the same time. The problem is that this is my first year in medicine and I am struggling a lot to organize my time and find time to learn languages. I can barely find time for my university studies, so how can I learn languages and not forget them?? 😢

how do you manage to study in cafes alone ? I mean do you keep your stuff unattended when you need to go to the bathroom ? I want to study in cafes, but i have this problem, what do I do with my stuff when I am there alone
ohh girl good luck.. look I have no experience with IELTS, I'll probably have to take it in early 2025 but honestly I'd watch a couple of videos hearing others' experiences and the exam format, buy a book if necessary and prepare for different speaking topics. in language exams it's mostly about knowing the exam structure and sounding as advanced as you can
Love from 🇮🇳🇮🇳 ❤iclal , please give me some tips for learning German as a beginner through i also want to learn French as well , how to learn both the languages ? Please reply me 😢
there are several exams like Goethe, TELC and TestDAF, check the requirements and exam formats for each and decide on your own. if your goal is just to prove your german level all are ok, if you want to study in a german uni i'd eliminate Goethe
