Well summarised Pete, you know how I feel about the coal industry. A shout out to GBRF thoiugh for the naming official or otherwise a great gesture. Coal will always be king in this old man's mind.
A great video Pete with a fitting tribute regarding the demise of coal fired power stations. I feel so angry at the climate activists and their stupid antics in this country. The UK has done more than anyone to get to net zero and yet they are still not satisfied untill the lights have gone out and we are all sitting around a candle to keep warm. Oh no ! i forgot candle wax is oil based doh !. Any way thanks for sharing some great footage as always Pete, cheers, Colin.
Dry your eyes Pete, never mind mate, life goes on. Thanks a lot For the Video, and remember if it comes out of the Ground, there’s only one King, and that’s Diamonds 💎 😊
You seem to have captured me north end of platform 1 at Chesterfield as 66623 passes ( with my town top on ). I did try to get out your way as the coal train left. great record of history passing .
Super video as always. Sad that it's the last coal train, David Attenborough & greta thunberg have a lot to answer for. The earth is evolving nothing to do with coal. Thanks Pete.😢😢
Great video Pete loved the chat and yes your right 30th September last day of R P S dont know what happens then i can see those cooling towers from my garden and at moment it suplies just over 2 million homes and looking around i can't see anything big enough to replace it power wise a few turbines aint going to doo that job . just ordered some more candles from Amazon so see how we go 🤣 awesome vid matey loved it take care a t b Syd👍🦮
Shame it is the last coal train,at least you got good footage. Grimethorpe was using coal and making good in roads to cleaner energy with the new style power station, but I believe a lack of funding made it close down. A shame as it would have made our electricity cheaper and less dependent on foreign power. So Coal is still King in my shoes,or miners clogs. LOL. I have also subscribed to Josh's channel.
Thanks for your usual high standard vids and also for the info on the last coal train I live at the side of ROS power station it’s shameful - now we shall see where energy prices get to.❤
@@donnypete I’ve got a bit of history with Ratcliffe my uncle was president of the tribunal for the then ministry of power which decided whether to go to Holme Pierrepont where the water sports centre is now or Ratcliffe on Soar, Ratcliffe won - it’s not that old commissioned in 1968
Pete...... Sad sad day mate, can see you have coal in yer veins and it must be sickening to witness the End Of An Era, whatever next????? I dread to think...Emotive vid pal thank you Cheers for now Ian........PS Dont Forget to hit the like button everyone.
interesting that the original comment I posted seems to have disappeared?????? Anyway never mind, but as the net zero madness progresses a lot of freight traffic will disappear from my local area, also is all freight going to end up pulled by 66s?
