@@thedefinitionisthis I would say the most serious of them all was Fast 4. It hadnt jumped the shark yet like Fast 5 started too so it was still grounded, but, it also didnt have the cheesiness of the first three either. The tone was quite dark that it set since it revolved around Letty dying and Dom finally choosing to no longer run. I mean the only humorous scenes I remember was Brian breaking that FBI guys nose (which he did again in Fast 7).

This movie holds a place in my heart for sure 🙃😂

It was more entertaining than bad it’s the type of the movie you can watch after having a bad day

Its not goofy its light hearted. When I was a kid I use to fantasize that I was part of the crew. Beautiful city of Miami, hot chicks, making money street racing, and partying till 3 or 4 in the mourning lol. They did a excellent job making the street racing culture look great and fun as hell.

This movie came out decades ago Johnson, and even then these guys were making those jokes.

I think part of it is Hollywood seems to only have a gay love story mainstream if there's tragedy involved. I think a lot of people just wanna see a fun gay couple in an action movie or other lighthearted Hollywood flick one of those rewatchable type movies

Honestly, the only one I felt dom had a lot of chemistry with was the mother of his son. Honestly she was a big turning point for me, it made me kinda not like letty, the other was clearly the better character

No Ja Rule & Ludacris character are 2 completely different characters

When Early crashed his Supra into the Pepsi product placement sign; there's a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse product placement sign right next to it. That year, Mitsubishi was promoting the arrival of the Mitsubishi Evolution 7 (Evo) finally making its way over to the states, but they also were still trying to promote their 2000 to 2003 revamped 3rd generation Mitsubishi Eclipse which NO car tuner liked since it was non turbo, not Japanese made, and slow and ugly as shit lol But yet Mitsubishi had a joint partnership with this movie (besides the other product placement companies) and it just came off as forced since everyone that was into cars knew that car was not liked. Kinda telling because considering the first F&F movie came out in 2001, the first director absolutely could have cut a deal with Mitsubishi to promote the then new 3rd generation Eclipse, but instead they opted for the mid 90's 2nd gen Eclipse, which was indeed a fan favorite car for actual real life tuners; that and of course, later on in the movie, the iconic orange 90's Toyota Supra. By that time both cars were discontinued on the market. Though this movie did get it right with putting in the 90s era R34 Nissan Skyline which was Japan only. Though I suspect that was specifically a request made by Paul Walker that somehow he convinced the studio to do. The Skyline shoulda been the hero car though and Tyrese should have drove the Evo. The DVD home release of the first movie had come with a Fast & Furious 1.5 short movie showing Brian's journey from CA to Miami on the run from the cops. He had a red twin turbo Mitsubishi 3000GT, and it also showed how he acquired the R34 Nissan Skyline which was cool.
