I owned a brand new 2001 Supercharged Saleen speedster .. the most amazing car I ever owned.. Would choose the black label over anything if I had $80k in my acct.
I used to sell for a Ford Dealership, that was the Saleen Dealer for all of North TX... and I spent part of 2 days with Steve Saleen at a Car Show, in 2000. The Cars were pretty awesome back then... but the 'top Dog' was a supercharged 500 HP... (We were also a Roush Dealer for a while... but unfortunately, we had some problems with Roush Standing behind their products... [frown]) But things have sure CHANGED in 20 years!
I love the those Saleen signature 5 star wheels. My Aunt has a 2000 S281 white convertible with 50k miles parked in her garage original owner. When that car fires up and pulls out if the garage. Those chrome 5 star wheels never get old.
S7 is absolutely the most beautiful car ever built!! I feel in love with the S7 immediately the first time I ever saw one!! Crazy it was built so long ago, yet it still looks better than everything that's been built after it.
I think the GT500 looks better than the Saleen even though it's still rocking the '15-17 headlights. Ford should offer a built 6-speed manual as an option for the GT500.
Awesome u reviewed them. I hope Saleen stays open I thought they went bankrupt years ago. Rousch needs some competition. I always preferred saleen they are classy.
More great content Auston ! The Saleen is interesting , But I haven't seen a newer Mustang more desirable than the 2020 GT500 ! EVER ! Not yet at least !
Always been a big fan of mr. Steve Saleen very intelligent guy build a very nice as far as I'm concerned those cars and the roush I just as good as current GT500 as they are just a production Ford performance vehicle with the name Shelby commanding a big mark up in price still a good car although Carol Shelby never touched or saw
Asspop87 oh really, uh oh I haven’t herd that. I just know the Saleen I seen were over 700 hp and like $25k cheaper than the GT350s that were for sale there, and Roush has stepped there game up to I believe. I’m just wondering if anyone including Shelby has started Forging the bottom ends yet?
NEXT!...I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A REVIEW, DRIVE AND RACE BETWEEN A 2020/22 SALEEN 302 BLACK LABEL MUSTANG VS 2020/22 SHELBY GT500 WITH CARBON FIBER TRACK PACK OPTION!...I AM JUST SAYING!... GOD BLESS AMERICA! 😇
Always loved Saleen, most likely getting my always loved 2008 281, but man... cmon Saleen... still the stick hood holder? Put some nice shocks on that hood..
Wrong, there are Ford dealers now coming on RU-vid offering at MSRP prices! I have s link right now that they offered a 2020 GT500 79k off the lot!! Last week!
Until the Saleen is recognized as more than a fixed up Mustang, I can't justify the price. The S7 is booked as a Saleen. Otherwise, the NADA guide is just that, a guide. So, you spend 95k, 4 years later the bank sees that as a Mustang GT. The value will be 20k. That said, if you find a collector with cash, you may sell it. You won't find many dealers selling these used because most customers put 5k down and the dealer wants 50k. The bank sees a negative of 30k. MONEY PIT. STICK WITH SHELBY. THAT IS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BUY A SALEEN AND KEEP IT FOREVER. My 2018 Whipple charged gt350 is a great choice. You get the flat plane, hi rev, added power and manual transmission in a car that holds its value.
saleen best. shelby has lil name but saleen made the s7 n painted the gt and vipers. they legit n make blocks and gets better mpg the coyote can be tuned n built more the na predator and those suck gas 18 vs 23 mpg hiway. saleen has a 36 gall ext tank as well... carbons only 8k package. bout 96k loaded yellow is 75. the older had the 6sp. saleen is rare to
It's hard to say because of the difference in transmissions... The DCT makes the GT500 feel like it's on power all the time, making it feel faster. However, that pause in between each shift and banging into the next gear in the Saleen gives an equally engaging rush of speed. We'll have to test them out side by side!
The Black Label is a miss as far as I'm concerned. I thought it was a joke when they first revealed it. Saleem hasn't really wowed me in some time. Although the S7 is one of my favorite cars.
Doesn’t have to be a manual to drive the car grandmas in the uk drive manual too. Nothing special about it, you kids say anything just because automatic is faster
Saleen redesigns some great looking Mustangs. I've always been a fan of Saleen Ford products, especially the big block Ford powered S7. Just wondering how financialy fit they are to be there for future warranty issues, etc.. Back in 2016. They were in big financial problems. I'm guessing they had a influx of cash. Regarding rev-matching. The current Mustang GT has rev match on both manual and automatic. Regarding the Saleen Mustang and the Shelby GT500. It's hard to compair the two cars. The Shelby GT500 is backed by Ford regarding warranty. They have Different engines. The GT500 uses the expensive dual clutch transmission. Has amazing downforce from Ford testing, huge brakes. Basically the Saleen is a modified Mustang GT with a big price. My questions are service and reliability. Do Ford dealerships service the Saleen and if so. How many dealerships are Saleen dealers? If I'm spending $70,000+. It would be for a Shelby GT500.
Hemi 300C You’re never going to find one that cheap. The Markups are crazy on the GT500. Why would a dealership let one go to one person for 70k when they know there are 10 other people willing to pay 100k+?
I dont see the value but i guess to be able to just drive it off the lot is great. Honestly though to just make 800 and not do anything to the engine and for more money than a gt500. whatever
