Love the 'throwdown' and the bloopers! Last year was my first year of for throwing big rubber. I tended to use the Mag Dawg as-is and added weight to the Medussa... so maybe a Quad Dawg is a good hybrid. Great video, thanks.

Thanks Dean! The girls enjoy being part of what we do, and that makes me happy as well! Hard to go wrong with any of these baits, but I will be tossing the Quad a lot next season!

Now we have the Bulldawg, Double Dawg, Medussa and Quad Dawg for however many tails you want to run. There's definitely someone out there too that split the Medussa tails in two for six tails.
@54orbust
@54orbust 7 месяцев назад
Lol never thought of that. I think the Quad Dawg is less about the tails and more about the body shape and weight.

Great comparison video, really interesting to see all the baits underwater!

Thanks Matt, this one deserves some more attention next season as well.

This as unbelievably informative. I usually add a ton of weight to my dawgs and dussas to get that nose down action and fast fall (similar to a tube). I’m glad to see the quad dawg will run the way I want out of the box. That harsh fall emulates a fleeing bait fish and it seems to trigger more bites for me.

Yep, that's why the tubes just crush up on shield lakes. I've had success on both. Can't wait for a full season on the Quad Dawg, I think it's gonna ea stand out!

nice comparison Glenn! I think you could argue that they all have some subtle differences between them that make each bait unique. They're all very similar, but I think it's easy enough to say each one has a place and time.

Thx for watching. Yep, subtle differences, personal preference and brand loyalty play a part, but it's amazing how much those two baits changed the musky industry. Hall of fame status for sure!

Since Dave is so good at imitating Jacques Cousteau (but way better looking), can you send him into my back bay? That’s where my one and only Madusa ended up after swinging for the fences and getting a full lockdown backlash. And you’re a much better friend than me Glenn, cause Dave would have needed a helmet if I was throwing those baits at him!!!😂 (Don’t worry Dave, I would have at least removed the hooks first …)

Lol, like really lol I have Kyla's lucky medussa laying in the rocks up by Blair's place as well. In musky fishing there is a level of trust only an adult film camera man can appreciate.

Great info Glenn. I already have a space in my tackle box for the quad. More if it comes in your custom colors 😎
@54orbust
@54orbust 7 месяцев назад
James, the quad is already in the Carbon Perch and I have it on good authority it will be coming in Sunset Jailbird as well! That is gonna be a killer pattern!

Medussas were made by a former innovations pro staffer so the bulldawg had a big part in the Medusa coming about. Point is without bulldogs there would be no medussas. I got my PB on a reg dussa they both have time and place. Dussas are nice because you can really snap tf out of them and the slower sink rate helps allot
@54orbust

Yep, they all have a spot and place to shine.

Thin the tailnportions so they flutter as the bait slows down. The dogs are the only one of the three the carry tail motion through the pause.

No mention of the tail tangles on the Medusa’s😂

Great video Glen. The Bulldawg and Medusa are unbelievably similar, despite their differences. I have caught musky’s on both, numbers wise I have caught more on Medusa’s. I look forward to trying the Qaud Dawg this year to see how it does. Excellent breakdown as always Glen.

Thanks Mitch! Gonna be some sweet spots on Eagle that should really suit the Quad Dawg!

If you're practicing catch and release, why are you using multiple barbed triple hooks? Aren't you concerned about collateral damage to eyes, gills and infection? Many trophy fisheries for species like steelhead emphasize single, barbless hooks.
@54orbust
@54orbust 7 месяцев назад
The culture in musky fishing is still multiple hooks. Some fly fisherman are using barbless. I think the musky community value the solid hook up and quick battle, and subsequent quick release of a fish over the barbless hook and constant, steady pressure to wear a fish out. I certainly hear your concerns, and some collateral damage occurs, but not as much as you would think. Appreciate you watching, and the thought provoking comment. Thanks!
