Beautiful car! My mom, aunt, and uncle had this same body style and we loved them. My uncle still has his. Even now in their old age I still see a lot of these first gen RL’s on the road like I did when I was little. It’s like they don’t age! I’m gonna find one and restore it one day.

Wow. That RL brings back some memories. I also had a 2000 RL in black and loved it. Unfortunately I needed a truck for work so had to sell it. I'm still looking at them 8 yrs later. Unfortunately living in Toronto where they worship the "Salt Gods" leaves me staring at nothing but rust in every ad.

Love these "style" of sedans. Very simple and elegant. I drive an LS 430 but the RL's of this generation look pretty dang sweet too.

Absolutely love these RL's, Timeless design and the interior materials are top quality especially the door panels, One of my favorites is the weatherstrip around the doors i have no idea what they used but it's insane how soft and pliable it is 20 years later.

I feel like sitting in that sweet RL would instantaneously turn me into a realtor.

Love my ‘03 RL that I’ve had for 10 years. Only 115K on the clock! Just drove it cross country this past summer. Still quiet as a sewing machine at idle.

Tyson I just talked my cousin into a new MDX ! It beautiful. Triple black. She had a 2013 GL450 that hit 90k and needed $15000 in service work! Woah. So she traded at my advice went Acura. She loves it and I love old RLs. Been hunting for one lately.

Love videos like this and your attention to detail is great. I have a 2006 Honda Accord, however I'm in Ireland so it's the same as the US Acura TSX. Had the car for trouble-free 10 years.

Hey just stumbled across your video, I guess because I also have a 200+ thousand mile Acura TL (2006). Do yourself a BIG favor, upgrade your ground wires, (chassis to battery, engine to chassis, engine to battery). For me it cleared up all my little electrical gremlins like the one you mentioned about the odometer resetting.

Your videos look more professional and beautiful than most TV ads. This car used to be my most favorite car in the world.

It's just gorgeous Tyson! Great shape for a 2000! I'd been having trouble with my Integra starting after doing a timing belt service. After about a week of trying to figure it out it ended up being a weak Ignition coil. Someone prior had replaced the distributor with an aftermarket unit. That's why when it comes to key parts like that it's always best to use O.E parts.

Man your RL is a gem! I have an 02 with 215k miles. It cranks up & goes like a 2019. I've had it for just over 4 years & it has been pretty problem free. I've had to replace the radiator & driver's side window control module. These cars were definitely built to last!

My dad went through 3 of these. Bought brand new and put 250-300k on each one with no issues but front suspension. Solid cars, so comfy and so fun.

I just feel asthough older generation cars were more bullet proof than these newer cars on the road. I have a 2018 Camry which I like. But grandmother still has her 1992 Cadillac Sedan Deville that she had bought brand new with over 200,000 miles and she has traveled in that thing more than just to church and the Grocery store that car refuses to die...lol I've always liked the late 90s and early 2000s Acura RL and Nissan Maxima. My favorite Acura was the 2nd generation CL those were sharp back in the day.

Great Video, Tyson....your black one looks so amazing! I may need to look into the throttle body you mentioned. Have you done the test to ensure no head gasket leaks yet (these notorious for)....I was ok but opted to replace my radiator/etc - the $200 was worth my peace of mind. Really enjoyed this video man - do more and with all your cars!

I have a 99 RL black on black. Currently at 216,000. I've had it for 10 years. Love it.

I've had a 2000 rl for about 13 thousand miles and I'm at 199,000 on it. Great car and incredibly reliable my only complaint is gas milage but it's well worth it the comfort and reliability the car has to offer.

1998 rl.... 199,670 on it ran like a dream loved that car... Got rid of it reluctantly cause I bought a 2014 Chevy ss and just didn't have room for it great car

Looks great especially considering the mileage. The engine bay is cleaner than my NSX's, lol. You've also reminded me I should really upgrade to binder(s) from file folders for records/receipts.

Nice, my son has a 01 RL with 140,000 on it. It's the bluish purple looking paint with the gold emblems. It really is a great car. Very luxurious. I really feel if he did all the maintenance on it, it would last another 20 years.

Have a 2004 rl looks just like yours. First thing i did was change the timing belt and water pump. Love the car but hate the road noise.

Stalling issue in the RL is starting to become a thing now. But just going through throttle body etc,idle relearn mine has been fine for about 6 months now since.

It looks so good! I have a 99 3.5 and the paint is all faded, the nav bubbled up so that doesnt work anymore. The previous owner was in a wreck and the back right wheel is bent in a little(-2.6). But the paint and everything about the car is dirty. Wish mine was in better conditiom but for what i paid for it, I cant complain toomuch. Has 183k got it at 165k and no problems.

I have rode in my mothers 1999 Honda Accord LX sedan from Washington state to Tennessee and the only thing that went wrong was the alternator. Can’t go wrong with a Honda or Acura!

Hello,bruh Tyson my name is Alphonso Seldon I love all your Acuras collection they are so amazing the way you have kept them in so good shape all these years,I have a 2002 Silver Rl and I love it,I have other vehicles but I love my acura it just has original 133,000miles and I have no problem with it just oil changes,I would love to send you a picture if I can upload it take care.

A fault in the RL's traction control system (from a wheel speed sensor or a brake caliper hanging up/dragging) can cause it to "feel" like it's stalling (while trying to pull away and while turning). Rear brake calipers are a good place to start. If the wheel doesn't spin freely while on a jack the caliper may be sticky/bad.

Use to have one the 01 my dad gave it to me loved it. But had to many electrical issues.

I bought a 2004 rl for 600bucks exactly like urs. Except mine came with the navigation screen and heated seats. Great car I can tell yu that.

That is insane 41$ in labor to change a cabin filter??? Many Acura dealers will do it for no charge in labor just pay the cost of filter when doing a service.

Lexus LS is much better , this car strives to be everything the LS is. This is great if you want a V6 FWD luxury
